The Managed Investing Operations (MIO) team provides critical operational support to our partners across Investor Services and Operations, enabling Schwab to deliver a best‑in‑class client experience.  As a Team Manager, you will lead, develop, and inspire a high‑performing operations team while advancing Schwab’s purpose to help clients achieve their financial goals.

This role requires a people‑first leader who balances day‑to‑day execution with longer‑term talent development, operational excellence, and continuous improvement in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

People Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a diverse team of professionals responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant operational outcomes.
  • Create a culture of engagement, accountability, and inclusion by investing in individual career growth through regular one‑on‑one coaching, feedback, and development planning.
  • Partner with the Director to establish clear performance expectations, individualized development plans, and succession strategies that support both business needs and employee aspirations.
  • Foster an environment where employees feel supported through change and empowered to take ownership of their work and professional growth.

Operational Excellence & Results Delivery

  • Ensure consistent execution of operational processes while meeting service, quality, and risk management standards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and operational metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Balance workload, capacity, and priorities to meet deadlines in a high‑volume environment while maintaining focus on client and partner outcomes.

Continuous Improvement & Change Leadership

  • Identify, influence, and champion process improvement opportunities that enhance efficiency, scalability, and consistency.
  • Lead teams through ongoing business and operating model changes by clearly connecting change to purpose, outcomes, and employee impact.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with partners across Operations, Technology, and Advisor Services to solve problems and implement sustainable solutions.

Risk Management & Professional Standards

  • Promote a strong risk‑aware culture by ensuring adherence to firm policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Model Schwab’s standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethical decision‑making in all interactions.

What you have


To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Series 7, 63, and 9/10 or 24 licenses required.
  • 8+ years of experience in financial services and/or operations, with prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational systems.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs, priorities, and schedules.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
