The Financial Crimes Risk Management (“FCRM”) team within Corporate Risk Management oversees the Conduct Risk Management Program. FCRM’s goals are to safeguard the firm’s assets and make Charles Schwab the most trusted leader in the financial industry. The Company’s Conduct Risk Management Program is led by the Corporate Responsibility Officer to promote integrity and an ethical culture. The Conduct Risk Management Program maintains responsibility for the enterprise-wide aggregation and oversight of the second line of defense functions related to conduct risk, including the Corporate Responsibility Program, Conduct Risk Investigations, Conduct Risk Surveillance, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption. The Program ensures adherence to The Charles Schwab Corporation (CSC) Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, as well as the Conduct Risk and Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policies.
The Anti-Bribery and Corruption (“ABC”) team is seeking a Manager to join the team as an individual contributor, reporting to the ABC Sr. Manager. The Manager will play a role in enhancing the ABC program by creating more effective and efficient controls in accordance with laws and regulations, providing oversight and supervision of personnel and procedures, developing training, and establishing template programs for future firm growth.
What you’ll do:
The Manager will play a critical role in driving and supporting the execution of Conduct Risk Management’s long-term strategy and strategic initiatives and will assist in overseeing and implementing an enterprise-wide Anti-Bribery and Corruption Program.
A successful candidate must possess strong strategic and critical thinking, collaborative relationship building skills, initiative, and attention to detail. The candidate selected for the position will be expected to:
Make recommendations as needed to support improvement of policies, procedures, and processes.
Conduct risk-based monitoring, and reviews activity which could be indicative of bribery and/or corruption.
Review and monitor employee travel and expenses, gifts given or received, interactions with politically exposed persons, and ABC risks from vendors and other third parties.
Conduct quality assurance reviews related to Conduct Risk Management, Anti-Bribery and Corruption.
Engage and collaborate across business lines with groups such as Corporate Compliance, Corporate Legal, Corporate Risk Management, Human Resources on conduct-related issues, current and emerging conduct risks/topics/trends, ongoing management and evaluation of the Firm’s ABC Program and best practices;
Leverage and enhance existing monitoring processes and identify and implement additional monitoring processes;
Investigate escalated issues related to FCPA/Anti-Bribery matters and communicate results;
Maintain strict adherence to regulatory guidance regarding the FCPA/Anti-Bribery Programs as well as internal compliance standards through identification of gaps and mitigation;
Conduct vendor and business unit monitoring, testing and review to ensure FCPA/Anti-Bribery compliance;
Report the results of monitoring, testing and reviews to management and oversee tracking and resolution of control weaknesses and enhancement opportunities identified;

Required Qualifications
BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
Experience synthesizing large sets of data from disparate sources into an aggregated firm-wide view for the purposes of reporting trends, metrics, and significant issues
Demonstrated ability to analyze issues and develop plans on a systemic level, thinking through potential connections and impacts across the Schwab ecosystem, and develop roadmaps to achieve long term vision through short term deliverables
Understanding of the regulatory environment and rules and regulations applicable to a diversified financial services firm, including strong knowledge of FCPA/Anti-Bribery risk regulations and laws
Ability to effectively and quickly build relationships and establish trust, respect, competence, and confidence
Ability to be flexible, use sound judgment, solve problems, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
Advanced skill with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and dashboard technology.
Positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism, and strong work ethic with high level of personal integrity
Five or more years of relevant experience
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
