Manager, Analytics Developer
Your Opportunity
At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.
We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).
The Operations Transformation Office (OTO) is responsible for transforming Operational Services into a highly scalable organization, while creating a culture of excellence in how we create shared value for clients, manage risk, cultivate talent, and collaborate with partners across the firm. Within the OTO we are standing up a new Business Insights team and are seeking a strategic-minded manager to join the team.
As an OTO Business Insights Manager, your work helps drive decisions and strategic direction for Operations. You support business partners by translating data into meaningful and actionable insights that help baseline initiatives, find opportunities, and solve problems. You gather data from many disparate, technically diverse sources. You prepare and process the gathered data, and then present findings to all levels of the organization. You continually look for opportunities to offer your support in a fast, efficient way, focused on results, seeking out automation and technology to aid you. You are aware of key activities in flight and will ensure coordination across the department and with partners for the data product.
What you're good at:
- Finding Data: Partner with system owners, data stewards, and other technology partners to locate and gain access to data. This sometimes involves creating a new path, where you will need to clearly communicate business purpose, needs, and value.
- Preparing Data: Use tools like SQL, Python, Excel, Business Objects and Tableau to extract, load, transform, aggregate, and visualize data into meaningful analytics deliverables, tables, and reports. Once preparation is complete, establish a way to automate future preparation activities.
- Measuring Processes: Use a data-driven, data-first approach to understand processes and initiatives, and the key concepts and outcomes that need improvement. Quantify the value of the improvement. Ensure there is data to support process measurement.
- Communicating Results: Clearly communicate findings with charts, graphs, and other visuals and presentations. Take feedback, iterate, and adjust. Ensure partners have the best understanding and support possible to make informed, high-quality decisions.
