Your Opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location.

At Schwab, the International Global Technology (IGT) organization supports Schwab’s international clients and a multi-currency trading platform to help clients manage their wealth. The International Engineering team within CES delivers and supports new applications, services, and products used by Schwab Representatives and our clients as they plan for their financial futures and wealth management.

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer with deep agentic AI-first development expertise to join our team. In this role, you will not only deliver high-quality full stack solutions for our international platform—you will also architect and operationalize autonomous and semi-autonomous agent workflows that accelerate the entire software lifecycle. You will work with a team of talented technologists and subject matter experts who bring energy, focus, and fresh ideas, all united by our mission to see the world “Through Clients’ Eyes.”

Agentic and AI-Driven Engineering

• Lead agentic-first development, driving next-generation and cloud-ready applications for enterprise solutions targeted at Schwab clients and systems.
• Architect and implement autonomous and semi-autonomous agent workflows across the full software lifecycle—from design through release.
• Break high-level requirements into structured tasks and orchestrate agent execution to maximize delivery velocity and quality.
• Design multi-agent systems for design-to-code, automated testing, bug remediation, documentation generation, and release orchestration.
• Define agent goals, execution plans, memory strategies, and tool integrations; build orchestration layers to manage agent collaboration, retries, and error handling.
• Supervise agent execution and validate outputs for correctness, security, and production readiness.
• Develop guardrails, policies, and prompt frameworks to ensure safe and reliable agent behavior.
• Integrate agents into developer workflows, internal platforms, and CI/CD systems.
• Lead cutting-edge proof-of-concepts for agentic patterns to be adopted into the enterprise tech stack.

Core Software Engineering

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure full stack solutions across backend (Java/Spring), frontend (Angular), and platform layers.
• Implement well-architected systems using design patterns, modular design, and clean coding practices; own end-to-end system design including APIs, data models, and performance optimization.
• Build high-quality codebases with strong emphasis on readability, testability, maintainability, and extensibility.
• Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies, including unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security testing.
• Ensure production readiness through observability, logging, monitoring, and incident response preparedness; optimize systems for latency, throughput, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Participate in modernization projects to improve user experience and collaborate with technical architects to develop modern, cloud-native architectures.
• Analyze business problems, refine requirements, and design solutions that meet objectives in a flexible Agentic and AI-Driven Engineering
