Engagement Manager, Trading Solutions

Trading Solutions is looking for professionals with a passion for helping clients become more knowledgeable investors. As an Engagement Manager, you will work closely with, Regional Trading Consultant (RTC) and Branch partners to coordinate and deliver in-depth and customized consultations for trading clients. Engagement Managers must have a deep understanding of the Schwab Trading value proposition including advanced options, portfolio margin, futures, and FOREX trading. They will need to facilitate high level conversations with practice book level clients ($1M to $5M in HH assets) and clients with complicated situations. They will ensure that clients understand the intricacies of their self-directed investment strategy, and the associated risks of those strategies. They will also collaborate with branch personnel to tailor services that meet client needs. This role requires expertise in working with SPWS-level clients, having a deeper understanding of the unique needs of clients at that level of AUM, and the ability to present and maintain a professional demeanor and presence.
Engagement Managers play a crucial role in helping clients understand how to utilize Schwab’s trading services effectively. Our educational approach includes training on various trading strategies, tools, and resources available through Schwab, ensuring clients can make informed decisions and maximize their trading experience.
To be successful in this role, Engagement Managers should be able to:
- Organize Scheduling – Maintain a structured calendar to be efficient in scheduling consultations and follow ups.
- Communicate Effectively – Establish communication channels with clients to understand their goals and provide relevant updates. Conveying information clearly and effectively in both individual and group setting in verbal and electronic communication is a must.
- Proactively Follow Up – Regularly check in with clients to provide any additional coaching or support that they may require. Work to identifying additional educational opportunities and leveraging our internal education to address them
- Collaborate – Work closely and professionally with business partners to ensure that client needs are met.
- Problem Solve – Address any concerns or challenges that arise during client engagements promptly and efficiently. Strong problem-solving characteristics and ability to work in new, unclear, or undefined directions is desired.
Engagement Managers help to triage high value client escalations working with the Executive Client Advocacy Team (CAT) and Trading Solutions leadership to deliver solutions and maintain focus on client satisfaction.
Engagement Managers can play a crucial role in Client Education events highlighting the Thinkorswim suite of products. These events provide an opportunity to showcase features and benefits of the platform and build client relationships.
When preparing for events, it’s essential to focus on a few key aspects:
- Understanding the Audience – Tailor presentations to the knowledge level and interests of our clients.
- Demonstration – Live demonstrations are incredibly effective.
- Interactive elements – Q&A sessions foster engagement and encourage participation from the audience.
- Follow up Resources – Encouraging clients to sign up for thinkorswim consultations through a provided QR code.
Engagement Managers will occasionally travel to branch locations to meet with clients one on one, or one to many to help with thinkorswim and Schwab trading products. An ideal candidate will be flexible in their approach to provide a personalized experience, adapting to the needs of the client. They will need to manage their calendar and expenses effectively, and ensure all supervisory requirements are met.

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years in Trading Solutions or equivalent industry experience preferred
- Associate degree or equivalent experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Series 7, 63 & 3 licenses required
- Series 34 within 6 months of hire (condition of employment)
- Additional industry accreditations preferred (i.e. CFP/CFA/CMT/DACFP).
- Self-motivated with good organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Possess an understanding of the principles of sales
- Ability to communicate complex trading strategies in a clear and concise manner to retail clients and business partners to help enable clients to make informed trading decisions
- Experience presenting advanced trading concepts to clients and prospects
- Proactive team player able to work in a self-disciplined environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and active listening skills
- Strong knowledge of Schwab’s trading & education offers, products, platforms and the overall Schwab Trading value proposition.
- Including but not limited to: an Advanced level of knowledge of the following products: Equity Trading, Basic Options, Complex Options, Reg T Margin, Day Trading, Portfolio Margin, Greeks, Technical and Fundamental Analysis, Futures, Foreign Exchange, Portfolio Management, Trading Systems
- Ability to educate clients on current positions as well as generation of new strategies through education on financial markets and products to familiarize customers with company polices and trading philosophies.
- Ability to adapt and implement change as the market and business conditions evolve
- Ability to work within your regions to foster FC relationships, work effectively with Branch Managers, Regional Investment Strategists and other partners & peers in assigned branch regions.
- Mastery of the firm’s most complex trading platforms (including but not limited to: thinkorswim, Thinkorswim Mobile Applications, and TosWeb)
- Understanding of how to leverage and convey risk management tools products, and strategies available to clients within Schwab platforms.
- Ability to educate clients on current positions as well as generation of new strategies through education on financial markets and products to familiarize customers with company polices and trading philosophies.
