Director, Trading Services Strategy (PL)
Your Opportunity
Charles Schwab’s Trading Services business serves retail clients who are actively engaged in managing their investments with an offering that includes a range of trading platforms,
research and analysis tools, an extensive offering of tradeable products, award-winning educational resources, a financial news and content network, and service and relationships tailored to trader clients’ needs.
The Trading Services Strategy & Planning team serves two primary functions: 1) Assisting with strategic decision-making for the Trading Services Leadership Team, and 2) Providing project/program planning and execution support for key initiatives that will drive the Trading Services strategy leading to growth in new Trader clients, increased retention of existing Trader clients, and increased trading revenue.
The Director, Trading Services Strategy will report to the Managing Director, Trading Services Strategy & Planning and lead strategic planning activities and special projects:
• Influence key strategic decisions that shape the direction of the company
• Define impactful business strategies for Schwab’s Trading Services business
• Take full ownership over key strategy projects and plan and manage the execution of work streams for large, complex projects
• Build relationships with a wide range of business partners, develop a deep understanding of the Trading Services business, and uniquely position yourself as an invaluable subject matter authority
• Regularly present strategic insights and recommendations to the firm's senior leadership
• Mentor and coach junior team members, and at times manage entire teams on project work

What you have
• 10+ years of full-time work experience, including 5 years of work experience in strategy, preferably with a strategy group at a large organization
• Comfort with managing project(s) with different team members and partners
• Experience mentoring / coaching a team
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences
• Excellent project management skills, including attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously; drive to decisions and follow through with strategic execution
