Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Strategy and Governance is a core department within the Enterprise and Operational Risk Management (EORM) organization andis responsible fordeveloping, implementing,maintainingand continuously improving Schwab’s ERM Program. ERM Strategy and Governance supports Schwab in managing and mitigating risks within risk appetite across risk categories using a consistent risk management process that enables effective risk identification and assessment, response, measurement and monitoring, and reporting and escalation through Schwab’s integrated risk governance structure. We support achieving Schwab’s “Through Client’s Eyes” strategy by evolving and executing the Company’s best-in-class risk management program in alignment with achieving ourobjectivesto grow,operateeffectively, scale and increase efficiency while developing andretainingtop talent.
Reporting to the Director of Risk and Regulatory Learning, this roleis responsible formanaginga portfolio of risk-related learning projects from initiation through post-implementation.The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with a background in learning and development who is eager to learn new and emerging business areas and related risks, is enthusiastic about contributing to projects outside of their immediatescope, andprioritizes collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve our Company’s business and risk management objectives.
You will have the following key responsibilities:
- Assistin the execution and monitoring of theRisk and Regulatory Learning Program, including process facilitation, data collection, stakeholderalignmentandcontent developmentto supportefficient and effective planning and delivery cycles.
- Support the development and interpretation of success criteria and related monitoring, including key performance indicators related to end-to-end process quality and efficiency, cross-functional dependencies, and voice of internal customer.
- Develop and design presentation decks that effectively communicatelearningprogramobjectives, promote training and awareness, and highlight success criteria and performanceand riskmeasures to key stakeholders.
- Coordinate recurring end-to-end program reporting and review cycles (e.g., business reviews,progressreporting, quarterly summaries, and committee reporting).
- Support technology enablement acrosslearningprograms, including sourcing business requirements, managing backlogs, supporting testing and deployment, and managing related change implementationto enhance training offerings.
- Maintain team-owned tools, trackers, and documentation systems related toRisk and Regulatory Learningmanagement activities,trainingand testing efforts.
- Support quality control, qualityassuranceand adherence monitoring acrosslearningprograms, including assuring theappropriate riskresponse and remediation.
- Provide project, change, and issue management support for strategic and operational initiatives, includingfacilitatingmeetings,developingand administering plans, managing timelines and artifacts, and reporting on progress to completion.
What you have
Required Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience within a financial services environment.
- Familiarity with risk frameworksand risk management training approaches.
- Team player with a bias for action and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple risk management activities in a changing environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to develop andmaintainrelationships with key stakeholders in all businesses and at all levels of the firm.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills withabilityto deliver context in a concise and impactful manner.
- Strong analytical and data visualization skills with the ability to inform and persuade both verbally and written to achieve business strategy and risk managementobjectives.
- Able to act decisively in making solid, informed decisions to achievedeliverableswithin constrained timelines.
- Anticipates potential obstacles and develops contingency plans to overcome them.
- Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word,PowerPointand Excel), SharePoint, and MS Teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or business equivalent is preferred but notrequired.
- Project and change management experiencea plus.
