We are building a next-generation Product Strategy organization to strengthen how the firm designs, delivers, and monetizes products across Schwab’s brokerage, Schwab Bank and Schwab Asset Management. This effort will establish a more integrated and disciplined approach to product strategy, execution, and performance management, enhancing our ability to bring innovative offerings to market, optimize product economics, and scale efficiently across the enterprise. The organization will introduce clearer product ownership, stronger alignment across business units, and more consistent operating processes to accelerate growth, improve client outcomes, and position the firm for long-term competitiveness in an evolving financial landscape

Reporting to the Head of Product Strategy, the Director, Head of Product Execution and Delivery leads the Product Strategy Program Management Office (PMO) responsible for managing the firm’s product roadmap and delivering the firm’s strategic product initiatives across the enterprise.  This role ensures disciplined execution and delivery of the product strategy by coordinating complex cross-functional initiatives across ~15 – 20 product teams, technology, operations, Schwab Bank, Schwab Asset Management, and other enterprise partners. 

The Director oversees the governance, prioritization, and delivery of the product steering committee and strategic product roadmap, ensuring key initiatives are executed efficiently, meet regulatory and operational requirements, and deliver measurable business outcomes.  Working closely with Product Heads, Product Strategy leadership, and enterprise stakeholders, this role establishes the execution and delivery of the operational frameworks and program management discipline required to successfully bring new and enhanced product capabilities to market while enabling the organization to scale innovation across both emerging and established product areas. 

Key Outcomes:  

Strategic Initiative Delivery

  • Chair the Product Steering Committee which will coordinate cross-functional teams across product, technology, operations, risk, legal, compliance, and enterprise partners.
  • Lead the execution and delivery of major initiatives supporting the firm’s product strategy, from concept through launch and scaling.
  • Ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with regulatory and operational requirements.

 Program Governance & Execution Framework

  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks for strategic product initiatives.
  • Define program management standards, reporting structures, and milestone tracking processes.
  • Ensure appropriate oversight and risk management throughout the product development lifecycle.

Product Roadmap Coordination

  • Partner with Product Heads and Product Strategy leadership to translate strategic priorities into executable programs.
  • Maintain visibility into the enterprise product roadmap, identifying dependencies, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Coordinate sequencing and prioritization of initiatives to maximize strategic impact.

Enterprise Alignment

  • Chair the product steering committee and serve as a central coordination point for initiatives involving multiple business units, including Schwab Bank and Schwab Asset Management.
  • Ensure alignment between product strategy objectives and enterprise technology, operational, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Facilitate decision-making and escalation processes when competing priorities arise.

Portfolio & Resource Management

  • Oversee the portfolio of strategic initiatives supporting the product organization.
  • Monitor resource allocation, timelines, and program progress.
  • Provide leadership with clear visibility into initiative status, risks, and outcomes.

 Organizational Enablement

  • Build scalable program management capabilities that support the firm’s evolving product agenda.
  • Foster operational discipline and consistency across product development initiatives.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing PMO team capable of supporting enterprise-level transformation.

What you have


Required Experience & Key Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in program execution and operational management, product delivery, enterprise transformation, or financial services operations.
  • Strong understanding of product development lifecycles within regulated financial institutions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large cross-functional initiatives across technology, product, and operational teams in environments of similar scale and complexity to Schwab
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational environments and drive alignment across multiple stakeholders.
  • Highly effective influencing skills, outstanding planning, communications, organizational and judgment skills
  • Extremely strong client relationship management and negotiation skills required with the ability to assess and effectively communicate processing capabilities and identify alternative solutions for clients and business partners.
  • Ability to leverage strategic and analytical capabilities to make sound, timely decisions based on client and field input supporting and maintaining a strong production environment including evaluating risk versus expense versus client experience.
  • Leadership and relationship-building skills, including ability to influence and build consensus across experience design, product, technology, marketing, regulatory, and other areas of the firm and all levels of the organization.
  • Strong clients focus and the ability to effectively build relationships, establish trust, respect, competence, and confidence.
  • Combination of strategic, practical, and creative thinker; strong “systemic” thinker who can connect all the dots, take the initiative and resulting capabilities from concept to execution.
  • Confidence and courage in business and talent decisions, actions, and communications with a demonstrated ability to take decisive action when needed, including championing ideas, position, or dissent.
  • Experience managing a significant budget and hiring plan with material enterprise-wide business impact maximizing the investment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
  • Strong emotional intelligence/maturity and senior level executive presence.
  • Experienced in effectively assessing, selecting, and developing talent for the firm; adept at providing balanced, direct, and actionable feedback to employees. Experience managing multiple priorities and overseeing distinct teams with varied strengths.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including external communication experience.
  • PMP, Agile, or related program management certification preferred.
