As a Sr. Manager, Internal Employee Communications, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective internal communication strategies as part of the Internal and Executive Affairs team.

Leveraging a One Schwab approach, you will contribute to strengthening our connection and purpose at the local level. 

Internal Communications

  • Develop and augment strategic internal communication plans. 
  • Plan, write, and edit employee communication content.  
  • Design and share campus messaging that emphasizes the location strategy and campus initiatives, improving internal communication and awareness.   
  • Advise Corporate Real Estate on basic property management communications. 
  • Employ an omni-channel strategy and approach, leveraging MS Teams, MySource, digital signage, Email, etc. 

Sr. Leadership & Executive Communications

  • Coordinate leadership planning meetings, partnering with Conferencing & Events, Property Management, Corporate Security, and others. 
  • Create schedules, registration and assignment models, prep packets, and provide onsite support for leadership field visits. 
  • Secure all logistics with lodging, meeting facilities, restaurant, and transportation vendors for leadership field visits.
  • Advise location councils in some service centers on engagement, inclusion, and community service. 
  • Document learnings and successes from post-event surveys that establishes benchmarking and growth opportunities.   
  • Prepare and distribute post-event materials for leadership meetings, prioritizing timeliness and accuracy. 
  • Support senior leadership visibility, employee connection, and dialogue through formal and informal communication venues.
  • Craft ad hoc executive-level communications when called upon.  

Campus Events

  • Influence the design and production regional employee activities that build engagement and foster belonging.  
  • Encourage responsible use of budgets throughout the year across all sites.  
  • Support external community development opportunities at the site.  
  • Work closely with Corporate Affairs leaders to highlight signature events throughout the year via a variety of communication channels.   
  • Design systems and distribute recognition awards for major Schwab-sponsored events.

Participation Management 

  • Drive increased participation rates across all types of local events.  
  • Solicit and coordinate leader participation at charitable and community development events, increasing Schwab’s reputation and visibility as good corporate citizen and top workplace.  

Crisis Communications

  • Coordinate time-sensitive crisis communications affecting Schwab employees and in partnership with key stakeholders from across the company.  

What you have


To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree required in Communications, Journalism, English, or related field. 
  • 5+ years of communications or related experience using common communications strategies and platforms. 
  • Ability to travel, if/when required (less than 15%). 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional ability to build, lead, and sustain cross-functional relationships, with strong client service, collaboration, and communication skills. 
  • Strong understanding of communications and community affairs practices, including tools, platforms, and strategies. 
  • Experience in measuring the effectiveness of communications programs.
  • Strategic change management skills and demonstrated success in building and implementing communications and change management campaigns. 
  • Experience managing and maintaining internal communications tools including internal email, employee apps, content management systems, etc. 
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed with ability to work with team members and leadership teams across multiple locations. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strategic, results-oriented focus. 
  • A highly collaborative working style effectively establishing trust and respect with high detail orientation.
