The Asset Liability Management (ALM) team is a team within our Corporate Treasury department. We are responsible for balance sheet management and strategy, portfolio and brokered deposit notional investment allocation decisions, balance sheet modeling and analytics, market risk management, ALM derivatives, funds transfer pricing (FTP), and net interest income forecasting. The overall team manages fixed-income investments in several portfolios totaling over $300 billion, with approximately $500 billion in total balance sheet assets and $85 billion in off-balance-sheet brokered deposit
agreement notional investments.            


The role will be focused on the funds transfer pricing function of Treasury. The team will lead a cross functional initiative to develop a best-in-class FTP framework and infrastructure. This role will manage a team to help build out our future state FTP framework and infrastructure.

Key Outcomes:
• Assist in the development and implementation of a new funds transfer pricing framework and
methodology, including facilitation of the project plan with key stakeholders across the firm.
• Lead the development of models and infrastructure to support the new FTP framework.
• Assist in the establishment of FTP Policy and methodologies for transfer rates based on market
rates, liquidity, and capital frameworks and the interconnectedness of risk stripes.
• Develop suite of analytics and reporting capabilities, including decomposition of net interest
margin by lines of business, products, and the Treasury Center.
• Support FTP methodology, monthly production and analytics, and the development of new
approaches and ideas for both existing methodologies and new products.
• Build FTP curriculum and educate key stakeholders in the application and use case for FTP to drive
business line led net interest income optimization and understanding.
• Clearly articulate the background and value of key changes, influencing leaders from across the
organization to gain alignment on the FTP framework.
• Collaborate with investment portfolio managers, risk partners, and product leaders to help
influence the risk-return optimization mandate.
• Build and manage a high performing team.

What you have


To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of career experience in treasury, funds transfer pricing, interest rate risk, finance and/or
ALM roles of progressive level of responsibility and a minimum of six years of experience at an
institution with similar size and complexity as Charles Schwab.
• Technical background with experience developing custom Treasury models and dashboards.
• Familiarity with the industry leading FTP methodologies for non-maturity deposit bases and
lending products, including experience creating and leading FTP methodology and a Treasury
Center.
• Enthusiasm to work in white space and the ability to create innovative analyses to help drive
strategy and influence key leaders across the company.
• Strong fixed-income investment modeling and analytics knowledge a plus.
• Ability to multi-task on multiple projects and deliverables while remaining calm in a potentially
stressful environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong emotional intelligence and executive presence.
• Client focused; able to build relationships and establish trust, respect, competence, and confidence
effectively and quickly.
• Ability to lead a cross functional project, managing numerous workstreams and stakeholders.

• Ability to lead a dynamic team and motivate direct and indirect reports to excel.
• An undergraduate degree is required, strong preference for an advanced degree.
• Knowledge of Python a plus.
• Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or QuickSite a plus.
• Experience working with large, complex datasets a plus.
• Experience in establishing a control framework to mitigate process risk a plus.
• Professional certification, such as CFA, FRM or PRM, preferred.
