Client Tax & Cost Basis Operations is a part of the Custody & Asset Services division of Operational Services. We are dedicated to leading a culture that delivers timely and accurate tax reporting in our efforts to create a premier client experience, while providing a controlled and disciplined environment that allows our employees to feel valued and engaged. As part of this mission, this hybrid Tax and Escheatment Specialist plays a critical role by supporting both pillars. Monitoring escalations, MyQ inquiries, inboxes, etc., supporting day-to-day processing, owning tax form and/or state escheatment processing, and building on internal and external partner relationships.
What you'll do:
- Support Escheatment team by monitoring escalations, inbox, and MyQ inquires
- Review and maintain escheatable populations for multiple states
- Work alongside leadership on highly confidential legal and audit tasks
- Create and maintain process and procedure documents for both escheatment and tax
- Support tax form production and tax withholding queues
- Process daily tax reports
- Partner with internal and external partners (including state offices and the IRS) to ensure compliance with regulations
- Lead new project initiatives
- Contribute to a multi-location, positive team environment
- Other duties as assigned
What you have

Required Qualifications:
- Experience in coordinating efforts with multiple internal business partners
- Experience in working with state offices, the IRS, or other external agencies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Escheatment/Abandoned Property preferred
- Experience with Tax Reporting preferred
- Project Management experience a plus
- This role requires strict adherence to the established policies and procedures
- Ability to work under pressure in an ever-changing environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism
- Good decision making and sound judgment skills are a must
- Attention to detail to identify and mitigate risk by adhering to department and firm policies and procedures
- Strong communication skills with the ability to develop and grow working relationships with internal and external partners
- Identify and communicate issues effectively and timely to peers and leadership
- Ability to multi-task, understand the importance of follow-through, and risk analysis
- Have outstanding time management and organization skills
- Excellent research skills
- Strong within Excel with familiarity of writing formulas
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
