The Advisor Services Data Delivery Team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to build and support Cloud-based applications that provide critical, high-volume processing for Schwab’s Advisor clients and third parties. This position requires an individual with strong problem-solving skill who can contribute to a highly collaborative culture and agile team environment. Our Software Development Engineers are driven to learn, grow, and continuously contribute to improving the Schwab experience and technology.

What you are good at

You will be a developer working with a large team that includes onshore and offshore developers using best-in-class technologies including Google Cloud Platform, Apache Airflow and Informatica. You'll be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of enterprise data integration solutions. You’ll have the opportunity to grow in responsibility, work on exciting and challenging projects, train on emerging technologies and work with other Developers in this exciting new technology stack.  Your detailed duties would include:

  • Creating/updating ETL specifications and supporting documentation
  • Building and supporting data processing pipelines to transform data utilizing Google BigQuery, Dataflow. and Apache Airflow workflows
  • Developing and executing quality assurance and test scripts
  • Work with business analysts to understand business requirements and use cases
  • Problem solving and fixing technical issues
  • Working with technical lead and offshore development teams to ensure proper and efficient implementation of requirements

What you have


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-5 years professional experience in software development.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented analysis and design
  • Experience with data structures
  • Understanding of Java or C# development
  • Inventiveness and eagerness to work with experimental technology is a must
  • Demonstrated Leadership Potential
  • Passion and aptitude for solving problems utilizing Innovation and Experimentation
  • Database modeling
  • Experience with Spring frameworks, including Sprint Boot, Spring Cloud Data Flow, etc.
  • Experience with a relational database, SQL and stored procedures (Oracle, SQL Server)
  • Experience with cloud computing (GCP, AWS, Azure)
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) products, including Dataflow, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Composer and Terraform scripting

What you have – preferred

  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Ruby, or TypeScript).
  • Experience with Atlassian Tools (Bitbucket, Jira, Zephyr, Bamboo).
  • Experience developing REST web services.
  • Google Cloud Certification
