Our Opportunity:

The Marketing Finance team provides financial analysis and business decision support for Schwab’s Marketing enterprise. The Marketing organization is responsible for delivering solutions, experience, and communications to ensure the best outcome for clients and increase Schwab brand awareness and recognition.

Our team’s objectives are to help business partners drive operational leverage and maximize profitability through rigorous analysis to support strategic decision making and planning, understand business trends, and communicate performance.

This individual contributor role will play a significant role in providing strategic financial support and analytical insights to influence outcomes and ensuring alignment with corporate financial goals.  

What you’re good at:

  • Lead financial planning and analysis for the Marketing organization. Manage month-end close, conduct variance analysis, identify risks & opportunities, prepare quarterly financial forecasts and annual plans, ensure timely and accurate reporting as well as tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Coordinate across the organization to ensure clear lines of communication and summarize financial results

  • Partner closely with Marketing leaders to understand business drivers, and identify business performance and trends to provide actionable insights

  • Structure and lead ad hoc analytical projects to support Marketing strategic initiatives

  • Partner with other Schwab teams to evaluate opportunities, build financial models, and develop business cases to help evaluate company’s growth initiatives including scale & efficiency

  • Fosters growth and development of peers on the team; being vested in the success of the team

  • Support people leaders within the broader Enterprise Finance team to drive team engagement

What you have


To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in financial planning & analysis, demonstrating progression into increasingly complex roles

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or related field

  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling

  • Excellent written and verbal communications and partnering skills. Demonstrated success in working with senior leaders and business partners

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with proven ability to identify and solve issues/challenges

  • Proactive self-starter and team player who can work independently in a challenging and fast-paced, time-sensitive environment

  • Demonstrate sound business judgement, strategic thinking, and ability to deal with ambiguity

  • Experience with ERP software or similar tools such as IBM Planning Analytic, Power BI, etc. SQL a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent graduate degree preferred

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
