Your Opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location.

The Transformation Management Office (TMO) at Schwab was established to accelerate large, cross-enterprise transformations across the firm.  This organization partners closely with teams across Schwab to support all facets of transformation, from identifying and prioritizing opportunities, to implementing and executing transformation programs, to evolving skillsets and mindsets.

The TMO is seeking a Senior Manager of Business Transformation with two key mandates.  First, the Senior Manager of Business Transformation will help lead one or more transformation initiatives in partnership with teams across the firm and often at the direction of TMO Directors.  Specific initiatives will vary over time, though are focused on implementing cross-functional capabilities that drive greater scale and efficiency, improve the client experience, and modernize how Schwab operates. Second, as a member of an evolving and growing team, the Senior Manager of Business Transformation will help contribute to the culture of the TMO team and how we work.

This role will focus on supporting the Forge integration within the Integration Management Office (IMO) of the TMO. The Senior Manager of Business Transformation will manage or support select integration workstreams and special topics, including track-specific alignment and connectivity to broader integration priorities. Areas of focus include: platform and application rationalization across Forge and Schwab systems and developing the integration roadmap flagging key value capture milestones, overall program support including meeting preparation and content production, and driving decisioning around special topics including, but not limited to: Broker-Dealer consolidation, Legal Entity consolidation, International location strategy and execution, centralized risk tracking, user/account conversion, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with TMO/IMO team members and key stakeholders to drive the Forge integration topics from beginning to end (e.g., defining strategy, designing plans, managing execution across cross-enterprise functions, facilitating handoffs)
  • Develop a deep, thoughtful understanding of each business area we are supporting
  • Support transformation and integration planning and roadmapping efforts, including quickly activating stakeholders and initiating bodies of work
  • Support implementation and execution of transformation work, which includes adapting plans as needed and proactively managing risks and issues
  • Communicate to stakeholders, amplify engagement, and ensure needs are met throughout the transformation/integration efforts (e.g., ensuring alignment with the vision, sustaining a sense of excitement and enthusiasm, ensuring field readiness, etc.)
  • Work closely with other TMO leaders and team members to ensure alignment and coordination across related initiatives
  • Contribute to the culture of the team and how we work; help to establish team norms and processes
  • Support the broader portfolio of TMO initiatives by providing surge support where needed
  • Help strengthen Schwab’s overall “transformation muscle” by regularly contributing to transformation best practices and supporting broader Transformation communications
