Our Opportunity:
The Managing Director of Schwab Advisor Network & Specialized Wealth Partnerships is a senior leader within the Wealth Offers, Operations & Specialists organization in Wealth and Advice Solutions and reports to the leader of Schwab Wealth Advisory, Schwab Advisor Network, and Wealth Specialists. This role will shape the future of Schwab’s advice offers by accelerating growth, deepening client engagement, and improving client financial outcomes.
The MD owns the strategy, growth, and ongoing management of select retail advice offers and partnership-enabled capabilities, including Schwab Advisor Network and offerings such as tax preparation support. This leader will set the vision, define client value, build strategic business cases, and lead cross-functional partnership across delivery, digital, technology, operations, and oversight teams to advance the roadmap and accelerate market impact.
Key Outcomes:
This role is accountable for offer strategy, pricing, enhancements, positioning, channel management, and representative and client experience design, while ensuring regulatory alignment across retail advice offers. The MD will define the target-state vision, set priorities, convert strategic direction into execution, and lead cross-functional delivery in partnership with digital, technology, operations, and risk teams.
Success in this role requires strong cross-enterprise leadership, deep understanding of client needs and market dynamics, and a track record of building data-driven business cases informing strategic direction. The MD will influence senior leaders through clear, compelling recommendations and advance differentiated advice solutions that deliver measurable value for clients and the firm.
What you have
Required Qualifications & Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
- 15+ years of relevant financial services experience, including investment management and retail and institutional RIA businesses
- Deep RIA industry expertise and relationships
- Strong leadership and influence across product, technology, marketing, regulatory, and design teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to senior leaders
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams
- Strong client leadership and credibility
- Translates data and insights into client-centered product and experience design
- Executes independently and effectively in ambiguity
- Track record of designing and scaling end-to-end client experiences
- Drives strong partnership with digital teams to deliver differentiated client outcomes
