The Trade Support and Operations Team is responsible for providing focused support to Portfolio Managers and Traders for daily settlement of securities trades, share position and cash reconciliations, order generation, and account maintenance on behalf of Schwab’s mutual fund and ETF products. In addition, the team is responsible for several strategic, multi-year projects, cross-functional reporting, as well as ad-hoc operational strategy support to other teams within the larger organization. What you are good at

The Manager will play a key role in managing client assets and supporting order generation.

The Manager will:

  • Effectively partner with a geographically dispersed team to understand and address their needs
  • Support and oversee the team’s daily/monthly/quarterly/yearly processes and step in wherever necessary
  • Support the middle office operations including trade and FX settlements, cash reconciliations and broker trading account openings
  • Provide business insight to project implementation teams and oversee team results that advance our best-in-class operational environment
  • Collaborate with internal partners (ex. Portfolio Managers, Trading Teams and other SAM operational teams) and external business partners to support business initiatives
  • Review information to make or escalate critical, risk-controlled decisions in a timely fashion
  • Provide guidance and support to resolve complex problems
  • Assist with team scheduling, managing employee performance, and support effective employee training and development
  • Support the hiring and onboarding of new employees

What you have


  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of financial services experience, preferably in a middle or back-office role.
  • Expertise with global trading and settlement requirements for fixed income securities, FX and futures
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and cross-functional relationship building skills
  • Independent judgement with strong analytical and risk assessment skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.  Ability to quickly learn new software applications.
  • Experience with investment book of record platforms (specifically Blackrock’s Aladdin system) for portfolio management of mutual fund and ETF products
