Manager, Portfolio Solutions Consultant

As a Portfolio Solutions Consultant at Charles Schwab, you will provide clients with holistic wealth management in a team-based environment. During client consultations you will provide financial planning guidance and advice recommendations based on personal goals and objectives aligned with the client’s stated and uncovered needs. Specific responsibilities include:
Planning and Portfolio Strategies
- Partner with clients via scheduled phone and video-based interactions to engage in financial planning and discovery conversations
- Serve as a product expert for a variety of managed account solutions
- Prepare for client appointments by reviewing previous interactions and financial plan details to holistically address the client’s financial picture
- Quickly build rapport with clients and conduct discovery conversations to better understand their financial and wealth management needs
- Provide education regarding financial planning and investment topics focused on retirement planning, investments, education planning, banking, and insurance
Business Development and Retention
- Demonstrate the value and importance of partnering with a consultant regarding planning and investment needs as their financial circumstances evolve over time
- Recommend and subsequently enroll clients into managed solutions based on the client’s individual plan and personal needs
- Seek additional asset consolidation and enrollment opportunities with clients as appropriate
- Apply a consultative approach to assess and determine appropriate solutions to meet client’s goals and needs
- Send and receive client referrals within the branch network to uncover business development opportunities
Relationship Management and Organization
- Manage client appointments and personal calendar to ensure availability and an efficient approach to engage with our clients
- Conduct follow-up appointments as needed to introduce clients to internal specialists and resources based on their individual needs
- Have a desire for consistent growth, striving to learn and improve to provide the best possible client experience
- Embrace an agile mindset and the adoption of new processes and technology to improve the client experience
- Adhere to a risk-based approach that always puts the client’s interest first and prioritizes contact and engagement based on the client’s needs and preferences

What you have

Required qualifications:
- Active FINRA Series 7
- Active FINRA Series 66 or 63 & 65. May be obtained as a condition of employment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experience
- 2 years of financial services experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Ability to speak and write Spanish preferred
- Entrepreneurial and a self-starter mentality
- Polished interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to quickly learn new technology and use a variety of data and systems
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to adhere to policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Collaborative and relationship-focused work style with demonstrated success in a team-based environment
- Open to ongoing coaching and development to achieve positive client outcomes and career aspirations
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
