The primary responsibility of an Aspiring Talent Academy Manager is to supervise, coach and develop a team of 12-16 college students (Part-Time Apprentices and Summer Interns) in the conduct of their duties within the Client Service & Support department.  All ATA Managers are responsible for recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and developing students to find careers at Schwab. 

In this role you will:

  • Motivate and inspire team members, both on an individual and team level, with regards to achievement of corporate, business unit and personal goals
  • Provide 1-1 coaching and targeted performance feedback to Employees.
  • Effectively manage performance by customizing development plans and offering training-based development needs
  • Partner with Learning & Development to train students on what is needed to meet Schwab’s outstanding client service methods.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and SCOUT on University campus recruiting efforts.
  • Partner with the Centralized Hiring Team on Interviewing to hire a diverse workforce.
  • Partner with STR, SSA, TA, and HR on employee onboarding
  • Monitor Employee calls for the purpose of assuring quality and assessing skills.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for various internal processes and best practices.
  • Partner with Licensing coaches to assist Employees with studies for the securities exams
  • Coach Employees when opportunities to assist other business partners arise.
  • Convert aspiring talent to Full-Time opportunities and maintain relationships to retain employees as they develop their careers.
  • Introduce Better Way to Excellence Continuous Improvement processes to ATA Participants
  • Lead participants through a ‘Capstone’ Project & Presentation

What you have


To ensure that we fulfill our promise of “challenging the status quo,” this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required qualifications:

  • Education Level Required: 4 Year College Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Series 9/10, Series 7, & Series 63 (or 66) required.
  • Strong understanding of the Better Way to Excellence processes
  • Ability to effectively coach for business results.
  • Solid knowledge of Call Center Management, process & operations
  • Proficiency in using a personal computer to perform essential job functions.
  • Capable of troubleshooting basic PC problems and escalate technical issues as needed.

Preferred:

  • At least 3 Years of relevant work experience, with at least 2 in a role Managing people.
  • Outstanding communication, listening, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to understand and support changes within the organization.
  • Ability to lead Students through change and uncertainty in a positive manner.
  • Able to quickly assimilate and understand the systems utilized throughout Schwab.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities & complex tasks simultaneously; assigning appropriate resources and ensuring quality, professional work is done that maintains high standards.

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
