Schwab’s Wealth & Advice Solutions (WAS) organization offers industry-leading wealth management services to both retail and registered investment advisor (RIA) clients.
The WAS Learning & Development team is responsible for the strategic planning, content development, concept design and delivery of our wealth management skill-based curriculum at Schwab. In direct support of this mandate, this Senior Manager will design, implement, and manage the identification and prioritization of various training needs through a new WAS Learning Intake Program. This role will work with various cross-functional learning teams, as well as business partners to establish and manage an operating model to align and prioritize learning needs within WAS.
The incumbent for this role will need to identify and develop a system for managing needs submissions, assessments and tracking on behalf of the broader WAS L&D teams. As well, this role will assume ownership of various learning programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and measuring the success of training efforts through evaluations and performance metrics.
We are looking for a versatile senior manager that is well versed learning program management concepts and experience with building governance systems and operating models to track program development. This team member will shape the method for prioritizing learning initiatives and help set the priorities for delivering a best-in-class set of learning experiences. This role requires a highly resourceful, hard-working individual with the ability to partner, implement, and lead through influence and collaboration across enterprise.
What you are good at
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage, coordinate, and execute Learning-related programs, supported by Learning Operations and Learning Business Partner
- Work with larger L&D team to support the development of learning and/or development programs to help learners most effectively build, retain, and apply new skills.
Ensure learning content is compelling and meets identified needs. - Drive development of a new intake prioritization process, build out a system to support idea submission, prioritization, and track, as well as establish an operating model to align key partners on prioritization decisions.
- Establish needs and skill-based assessment that is designed to uncover learning needs and inform training requirements.
- Contribute to WAS Talent Hub share point management for continuous learning content, supporting various programs in partnership with broader L&D team members.
- Support the planning and execution of continuous learning programs through detailed project event plans and virtual meeting management in partnership with colleagues.
- Take ownership of the design and development of learning programs as needed.
What you have
- 5+ years relevant experience in or including training and assessment development.
- Experience owning intake strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
- Track record of designing and implementing end to end programs from scratch and require stakeholder buy in, and support to achieve superior results.
- Experience working cross functionally various partners across the organization, at various levels.
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and track program impact.
- Ability to make significant progress with minimal direction and to make decisions, pivot, and structure pathways forward in the face of ambiguity.
- Collaboration and relationship-building skills, including ability to influence and build consensus.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to effectively present to all levels of the organization, including senior management.
- Shown ability to effectively build relationships, establish trust, respect, competency, and confidence.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
- PMP, Prosci or CAPM preferred, not required.
