At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

The Director, Specialized Client Solutions leads the Large Client Acquisition Team (LCAT) while also serving as a lead consultant and strategic partner for Schwab’s largest and most complex client acquisition opportunities, typically involving $50 million or more in potential new assets.
This is a hands-on leadership role. The Director directly leads a portfolio of complex opportunities while setting team priorities, allocating resources, coaching and developing LCAT team members, and establishing consistent standards for strategy and execution. The Director balances individual opportunity ownership with responsibility for the team’s overall capacity, performance, effectiveness, and business impact.
For assigned opportunities, the Director works directly with Financial Consultants, Branch Leadership, and enterprise partners to understand client needs, shape acquisition strategy, coordinate resources, develop customized solutions, and guide opportunities from initial discovery through onboarding and asset transition. The Director also provides strategic guidance, coaching, and escalation support for opportunities led by other LCAT team members.
As the leader of LCAT, the Director represents the team with senior leadership and enterprise partners, communicates business results and emerging trends, and influences capabilities, policies, and service models that strengthen Schwab’s ability to win and onboard sophisticated relationships. LCAT’s mission is to absorb complexity so Financial Consultants can remain focused on deepening relationships and growing client assets.
Key Responsibilities
The Director, Specialized Client Solutions (PL) will:
- Lead an assigned portfolio of Schwab’s largest, most complex, and most strategically important client acquisition opportunities from discovery through onboarding and asset transition.
- Partner with Financial Consultants and Branch Leadership to understand client objectives, develop tailored acquisition strategies, and coordinate Schwab resources and solutions.
- Lead the development of proposals, executive presentations, business cases, RFP responses, client meeting strategies, and implementation plans.
- Assess complex client requirements and resolve issues involving account structures, asset acceptance, reporting, trading, integrations, service delivery, and operational accommodations.
- Lead, coach, and develop LCAT team members, establishing clear expectations for performance, opportunity ownership, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Set team priorities and allocate resources across the LCAT portfolio based on opportunity value, complexity, risk, strategic importance, and available capacity.
- Provide strategic guidance and escalation support for team-led opportunities while maintaining clear ownership and accountability among team members.
- Establish and continually improve LCAT’s engagement model, operating standards, tools, processes, and best practices.
- Monitor and communicate LCAT’s opportunity pipeline, capacity, performance, business impact, emerging trends, and resource needs to senior leadership.
- Build partnerships across Schwab to remove barriers, improve enterprise capabilities, and support strong client, risk management, onboarding, and asset-conversion outcomes.
