Your Opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

The Director, AI Data Enablement & Solutions Architecture is the connective tissue between Operations' AI ambitions and the data foundations, measurement systems, and insight capabilities required to realize them. Reporting to the Managing Director of Ops AI, you will create the Operations data strategy and readiness model that connects AI investment priorities to trusted operational intelligence and measurable business outcomes.

You will define and operate the measurement framework for Operations AI—establishing North Star metrics, a consistent value realization methodology, and standardized measures of adoption, productivity, quality, employee and client experience, risk reduction, and scale. You will build the benefit tracking and reporting that lets leaders answer where AI is working, what value has been realized, and where to invest next.

You will own the product vision, roadmap, and prioritization for Operations' AI data and insights capabilities—driving insight democratization and shaping conversational analytics, AI-generated operational insights, predictive and prescriptive capabilities, and executive intelligence. You will extend this work directly into the employee experience by owning data product direction for AI-enabled Ops Desktop experiences. You will also define the AI data strategy and future-state architecture, including operational knowledge architecture, semantic layer and metadata strategy, AI-ready data standards, and the data modernization investments required for an AI-centric operating model.

What you are good at:

  • Designing measurement frameworks and value realization methodologies that distinguish anticipated benefits from realized outcomes
  • Defining product vision, roadmaps, and prioritization for data and insights capabilities that serve business users at scale
  • Shaping AI-enabled analytics experiences, including conversational analytics, operational insights, and predictive and prescriptive capabilities
  • Assessing AI readiness and defining future-state across measurement, data architecture, semantic layer, metadata, and AI-ready data standards and controls
  • Establishing operational knowledge architecture and prioritizing the data modernization investments required for an AI-centric operating model
  • Shaping AI-enabled employee experiences, including when AI should explain, summarize, recommend, predict, assist, or act
  • Building strong cross-functional partnerships across Operations, Central Data, Enterprise AI, Technology, and product teams
  • Building and leading high-performing teams in fast-paced, dynamic, and matrixed environments
  • Advising and coordinating across related initiatives, associated projects, and other activities

What you have

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

  • 3+ years driving AI, data product, or advanced analytics initiatives in large, complex organizations
  • Proven track record defining and delivering reusable data or product capabilities that scale across multiple use cases
  • Demonstrated experience establishing value measurement methodologies and executive-level reporting
  • Demonstrated team leadership capabilities, effectively organizing highly performing, multi-discipline teams to meet changing business challenges

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong command of semantic layers, knowledge architecture, metadata, and AI-ready data standards
  • Strong leadership, partnership, and influencing skills in a highly matrixed environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to synthesize complex topics for multi-level audiences, from senior executives to daily users

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
