Charles Schwab is looking for a seasoned Municipal Fixed Income Trader. This role will complement our Municipal Fixed Income Trading and Syndicate Teams. The Trading aspect of the role will consist of trading a region of the country and being responsible for a proprietary book. The Underwriting aspect of the role will be to lend a hand and add in sight and expertise to our existing Municipal New Issue team. These roles will provide the candidate with the opportunity to become well versed in the nuances of various other fixed income products and how those product offerings are managed, including the leveraging of electronic platforms. This role will offer the opportunity to provide support to national sales teams and work to identify and implement process improvements. Effective communication and teamwork skills along with an ability to work in a demanding environment are essential. The position will be filled Jersey City, NJ.
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications:
- Series 7 & 63 are required.
- 10 or more years of Proprietary Trading experience is required.
- 5 or more years of trading Mid-Atlantic and/or Southeast credits are required
- 5 or more years of Underwriting experience is highly preferred but not required.
- Experience working in Bloomberg TOMS is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to collect and analyze data with the purpose of developing, managing, and enhancing tools to increase efficiency.
- Full understanding of MRSB and FINRA regulatory rules are required.
- Strong Excel skills required, additional database platform knowledge desired.
- Ability to work independently and collectively, exercise sound judgment and manage daily workload.
- Series 24 and/or 53 are preferred and eventually required.
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
