As a Schwab Retirement Distribution Operations Manager, you will be responsible for hiring, coaching, and developing a team of 10-12 Retirement Distribution Operations Professionals. In this role, you will lead a multi-faceted team that provides client services, as well as processing time sensitive high-risk client transactions. This is a dynamic, detail-oriented, high volume, and deadline-driven environment requiring the ability to build and cultivate relationships across the firm in order to be successful. In addition to responsibility for all aspects of employee development and the full performance management process, your responsibilities include:
- Coaching employees to excellence in delivering proactive, purpose-driven interactions with internal and external clients
- Supporting the direction of the organization by participating in strategic planning sessions
- Building strong partnerships within and across the broader organization
- Understanding and managing risk and ability to coach team members accordingly
- Delivering brilliant basics results that align with the organization’s strategic objectives and that achieve balance between operational excellence and the client experience
- Creating a team environment that fosters engagement and an achievement-oriented culture
- Passion for the client experience due to the sensitive nature of the client we are servicing
- Understanding of industry regulations in order to ensure team compliance with firm’s policies and procedures
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a People Leadership role
- 5+ years’ experience in Retirement Operations
- Active FINRA Series 7, 63, and 9/10 or 24 licenses required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership experience or proven capabilities in current role
- Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives
- Must enjoy a detail-oriented position in a fast paced, continuously changing environment
- Strong passion for people leadership, relationship building, collaboration, and complex problem-solving skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
