Schwab Asset Management (SAM) is the asset management arm of the Charles Schwab Corporation, has more than $1 Trillion in assets under management and is one of the nation’s largest retail money managers. SAM provides a wide variety of products ranging from money market funds, index mutual funds, actively managed mutual funds, exchange traded fund, and multi-asset SMAs. SAM uses a consistent and disciplined approach to investing across all our products and seeks to develop innovative new products to meet the core investing needs of our clients.
The Manager, Operations Analyst role will be part of the Fixed Income Operations Team and will be providing operational and administrative support for the Credit Research and Portfolio Management Teams across the actively separately managed accounts and 40 Act funds. This role will be uniquely embedded within the investment teams and the individual will be working collaboratively to optimize and streamline operational processes across multiple platforms. The role will also focus on building a sound operational infrastructure to support future growth and scalability across the various PM desks related to reporting, data integrity and workflow processes. The right candidate should understand the nuances and challenges of the day-to-day work while maintaining a big picture view on future state initiatives and advancements.
Primary Responsibilities will include:
- On-going reconciliation of data within multiple applications to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Provide daily operational support for SMA Portfolio management teams specifically with the new issue workflow (Credit approvals, linking and updating Cusip information)
- Gain an understanding of PM workflows to improve processes and streamline workflows (understanding of models and strategy rules)
- Ensure appropriate controls are in place in adherence with established procedures and guidelines
- Manage all reporting needs; both regulatory and internal
- Collaborate with Technology and external vendors to support on-going system integration and enhancements
What you have
- Bachelor’s degree, required
- Minimum 3-4 years’ experience within the financial services industry specifically in operations or middle office
- Advanced Excel skills (V-look Up, Pivot tables, Macros, Formulas)
- Experience with Bloomberg (API, Exporting Data), Investortools, Aladdin, Rubik, FactSet
- Understanding of Fixed Income securities and products
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze problems and implement solutions
- Data Science Knowledge; familiarity with GenAI applications
