Container Platforms Organization (CPO) provides Schwab Technology Services (STS) with reliable, current, and preferred Container Platform offerings. The team delivers and owns products and capabilities that make the onboarding and operation of applications on those offerings consistent and simple. We strive for excellent customer service by providing tenants of our platforms and consumers of our products with valuable services and automation, 24/7 support, issue resolution, platform/product debugging and fine tuning, and advocacy through widely impacting projects. 

The Sr Specialist - Software Development & Engineering will work closely with members within Infrastructure, Operations & Cloud (IOC) and more broadly with Schwab Technology Services (STS) to provide and maintain on-premises hosting solutions.  This position requires hands-on technology experience and ability to ideate, design, implement, test, and deliver monitoring, alerting, and reporting solutions for Platform-as-a-Service and Container-as-a-Service solutions. The role will have opportunities to extend beyond those solutions, including full data center analysis, capacity planning, implementation of automation including AI agents, and support of development efforts.

Responsibilities

Visualizing trends, hotspots, and matters needing attention through the collection and analysis of data from disparate sources

Develop automated tools that provide the health and risk of applications deployed on Schwab platforms, by leveraging, correlating, and consolidating real-time and static data

Present findings to CPO leadership and application teams throughout STS

Engage with application teams to deep dive into their specific findings, and how to address them

Work towards the development of a prediction model that correlates external data to application and platform expectations

Required Qualifications

• Developing monitoring and alerting solutions 

• Developing real-time dashboards and reports 

• Data mining, munging, and cleaning 

• Agile methodology, including agile-at-scale and agile technologies such as Jira 

• Enterprise monitoring tools and configuring and integrating them 

• Access, reading, manipulating and interpreting logs 

• Datawarehouse and data-schema design 

• Implementation of automation, both explicit and AI empowered 

• Working with individuals to investigate problems/opportunities and define solutions 

• Producing clear enterprise documentation and presenting them to IT leadership 

• Building performant scripts, queries 

• Developing predictive models built upon big, disparate data sets
