This posting announcement is part of increased transparency and while all qualified applicants will be reviewed and considered, this organization has a preferred candidate identified for this role.

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

The Margin Services, Sr. Manager, is a confident individual with an exceptional understanding of equities, options, and futures markets. The position requires a conversive operations and risk manager that anticipates trading and margin risk, acts accordingly to mitigate this risk, and is prepared to explain decision-making to team members, management, and clients via phone, email, and IM. This role will focus on managing day-to-day operational and risk management activities including maintenance deficiencies and risk situations, as well as developing leadership skills and coaching/mentoring teammates. This role is also expected to materially contribute to setting department policies and procedures that align with the current regulatory market environment/rules. Also, the candidate is expected to clearly report concerning trading conditions, outsized risk in our option book, macroeconomic event impacts, and general market outlook to senior leadership. In addition, the candidate will be expected to help the legal team with all matters relating to an arbitration; from assisting with the preparation of documents, to helping identify the best strategy that will provide the firm the highest probability of success and being called as an expert witness.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and grow working relationships with internal and external clients
  • Excellent analytical and influencing skills with the ability to think creatively and offer solutions that benefit the employees, clients, and firm
