This newly created role will support the future growth of the Schwab Asset Management (SAM) business. As a Manager, Software Development & Engineering, you will be a member of a high-performing team that is responsible for developing and supporting the technology used to manage SAM’s assets. You will deliver high-quality solutions that meet business objectives in a flexible, collaborative, and rapidly changing environment.
What you have
- Design, develop, and deliver solutions as part of an Agile Scrum team.
- Leverage understanding of software development principles and practices to help mentor and coach junior team members.
- Support and triage issues and participate in production support to help develop resilient and secure systems to prevent issues that impact on our clients.
- Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to define strategy and scope of software requirements (decompose stories, design features, and prioritize tasks)
- Delivering new concepts and features, working alongside development peers in an agile environment
- Utilize automated software test tools and frameworks such as test-driven development to achieve the highest quality in software delivery
Required Qualifications
- Hands on experience gained through at least 5 years in a moderatel complex software development role Proficiency in C#/.NET (including .NET Core) and relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
- At least 6 months of Schwab technology domain experience gained as a current or recent contractor or employee
- Recent experience working in Agile (Scrum or Kanban) teams, as both apractitioner and an adherent, using Jira/Confluence
- Experience with Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS
- Familiarity with event-driven programming (RabbitMQ or similar)
Preferred Qualifications
- A university degree in a technical program, such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems. Advanced degrees and/or other professional certifications are a plus
- Experience in financial industry-specific technologies, such as FIX messaging, market data APIs, and trade order management systems (OMS)
- Control-M (job scheduling)
- Exposure to Informatica or other ETL tools
- SonarQube or Veracode for code quality/security
- Knowledge of Splunk (monitoring/log analysis)
- Experience with cloud technologies; AWS, GCP, or PCF will be a plus
- Strong customer focus with a sense of ownership and determination todrive solutions in a collaborative environment
