The Director of Liquidity RiskAnalyticswill play a critical role in 2LOD oversight by ensuring thefirm'sliquidity riskexposuresalignswiththeSchwab’sRisk Appetiteand regulatoryguidance. This includes aiding in the preparation of presentation materials, includingriskmanagementreporting, for the Board and senior management risk committees.Additionalresponsibilitiesincludeinfluencing significant decisions across the first and second lines of defense, includingstrategic initiativedecisions. Defined authority to provide independentchallenge, document informed positions, and escalate matters through formal governance channels whenappropriate. The role alsorequires, regulator‑ready engagement with Internal Audit and external regulators to ensure consistent methodologies, evidence of effectivechallenge, andtimelyremediationof challenges.
Whatyou’lldo:
- Liquidity Risk AnalyticsFacilitator. Oversee and manage Liquidityriskanalytics,reporting, and modeling,including delegation of responsibilities, review of reporting to ensure accuracy, and providing guidance and feedback to team.
- Regularly liaise with Treasury(Cash Management, Capital Markets and Liquidity Management as needed)to collaboratively approach regulatory issues, business processes, and risk managementpertaining tofunding strategies.
- Lead the LiquidityRiskNew Product analysis process for both Client Facing and Non-Client Facing products and processes, providingthorough review and challenge ofliquidityexposuresandensuringarobustcontrol environment is in place.
- Interface with internal partners such as the Regulatory Liaison Office and Internal Audit Department, and external regulatory bodies, including the Federal Reserve, to effectively address critical projects related to regulatory remediation.
- Develop andmaintainEffective Challengeprogramsacross various liquidity processes, including Funds Transfer Pricing, Intraday Liquidity, and Liquidity Stress Testingto ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.Communicateany existing gaps and work withfirst line partnersto close them.
- Maintain liquidityrisk model documentation, including theChallengerLiquidityStress Testing model, to ensure effective communication ofmethodologies and assumptions.
This is an individual contributor role reporting into the Director ofLiquidityRiskOversight.
What you have
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics,orbusiness relatedfield
- 5+ years of liquidityrisk managementor risk managementexperience(Treasury, Risk Management, Regulatory Agency, Consulting)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact cross-functionally
- Strong process orientation and analytical skills
- Self-motivated, able to multi-task,performunder strict deadlines, and able toenhanceexistingprocesses
Preferred Qualifications:
- AMaster’s degree in Business, Finance,Economicsorotherrelated field
- CFAor other related certification
- Familiarity with abankand broker-dealer’sbalance sheet
- A general understanding of regulationspertaining toliquidity(Prudential Standards, SR 10-6)
- Experience creating presentations for executive audiences
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
