As a member of the Enterprise Middleware and Online Security Technology team, you will be immersed in a
collaborative, innovative, and technically challenging environment. We’re looking for engineers who are enthusiastic
about learning new and existing technologies to deliver exceptional software solutions. The role will require a strong
work ethic, problem solving skills and the ability to partner with business and technologists across the organization.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully building and supporting enterprise web
applications.
• Work closely with product owner and team members to decompose stories, design features, and prioritize
tasks.
• Work with the SCRUM master and product owner to provide development sizing & cost analysis estimates.
• Create, maintain, and ensure adherence to development, coding, testing and automation standards.
• Utilize automated software test tools and frameworks such as test-driven development to achieve the highest
quality in software delivery.
• Deliver new concepts and features, working alongside development peers in an agile environment.
• Collaborate with peers and partners on a SCRUM team to deliver software release sprints on time with a
focus on quality.
• Deliver highly scalable and reliable applications that meet business budgets/timelines while ensuring
alignment to strategic technology vision.
• Interface with your cross-functional team to ensure implementations meet business requirements, solution
architecture and design.
• Investigate the current-state solution to identify and resolve challenges.
• Understand, advocate, and augment the platform principles, guidelines, and standards.
• Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to
enable new and evolving business and operating models.
• Partner with security, fraud, risk, and platform stakeholders to deliver Passwordless Login and Risk Based
Authentication (RBA) capabilities.
• Conduct research, proof-of-concepts, and iterative delivery in fast-evolving identity and authentication
domains to help establish team expertise and influence platform direction.
• Design and implement secure, resilient, and user-friendly authentication journeys by leveraging risk signals,
telemetry, and policy-based decisioning.
• Approach challenges with humor and humility, bringing thoughtful participation and collaboration.
What you have
To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications
- Essential: Java and JavaScript (including modern web frameworks; Angular preferred).
- Essential: Web application development experience (consumer-facing web applications preferred).
- Essential: Spring Cloud (or similar) gateway patterns and building/consuming REST APIs.
- Essential: Automated testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Karma, Cucumber/BDD) including accessibility
- testing.
- Essential: MongoDB (PostgreSQL preferred).
- Essential: CI/CD technologies (GitHub Actions, Bamboo, Sonar, Blackduck, Veracode preferred).
- Essential: Logging technologies with log analysis/reporting (Splunk, BigQuery and/or Grafana preferred).
- Essential: Containerized deployment and experience deploying to cloud platforms (GCP or AWS
- preferred).
- Demonstrate curiosity, strong software design skills, and the ability to troubleshoot in high-stress/time-
- critical production situations.
- Domain: Understanding of authentication protocols such as OAuth and SAML; experience building
- identity/authentication solutions for reuse is preferred.
- Experience designing or implementing Passwordless Login (e.g., FIDO2/WebAuthn/passkeys) and
- modern authentication journeys.
- Experience with Risk Based Authentication (RBA) concepts such as risk scoring, step-up authentication, device signals, behavioral signals, and policy-based access decisions.
- Ability to research and apply evolving identity standards and industry practices to drive secure, scalable solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
• Angular (preferred) and modern JavaScript frameworks; TypeScript; HTML/CSS.
• Spring Cloud Gateway (or similar gateway technologies).
• PostgreSQL (preferred) and MongoDB.
• Observability/log analysis tools such as Splunk, BigQuery and/or Grafana.
• CI/CD and code quality/security tooling such as GitHub Actions, Bamboo, Sonar, Blackduck, and
Veracode.
• Cloud and container platforms such as GCP or AWS (containerized deployment).
• Performance testing and engineering (nice to have).
• NIST identity standards familiarity (nice to have).
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
