This position will be part of Digital Utilities Technology team at Schwab, and we will focus on driving client-centricity,

• Collaborate with product owners, architects, engineers, QA, and partner teams to design and deliver scalable,

high quality software solutions.

• Participate in requirements analysis, solution design, sprint planning, Agile ceremonies, and release planning.

• Analyze, propose, and implement timely, cost effective, and high quality solutions for technical and business

problems.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.

• Build and enhance user facing interfaces, balancing usability, performance, and technical excellence.

• Design and optimize database schemas and SQL queries for data integrity and efficiency.

• Apply object oriented principles (OOP), SOLID principles, and design patterns in solution design and

implementation.

• Contribute to architecture discussions and help evolve application and platform design.

• Perform code reviews, ensuring adherence to quality, security, and maintainability standards.

• Mentor and guide junior engineers, supporting onboarding and technical growth.

• Design and evaluate proofs of concept (POCs) and present/demo technical solutions to product and business

stakeholders.

• Design, implement, and improve CI/CD pipelines to enhance automation and deployment reliability.

• Work effectively in cloud based environments, supporting configuration, services, and platform needs.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long term fixes.

• Contribute to solutions involving event driven or streaming architectures.

• Communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.

What you have

To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or

equivalent practical experience.

• 3+ years of hands on software development experience building enterprise or cloud based applications.

• Strong experience developing backend services using .NET Core and C#.

• Experience building modern web UIs using Angular, Blazor, or React.

• Strong understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and common design patterns.

• Experience with SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL, including advanced SQL development.

• Hands on experience using GitHub, including pull requests and collaborative workflows.

• Proven experience conducting code reviews and improving overall code quality.

• Experience designing and implementing POCs and evaluating technical tradeoffs.

• Experience presenting and demoing technical solutions to product and business teams.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment workflows.

• Experience using code quality and security tools (e.g., Qualys, Veracode).

• Hands on experience with GCP and/or PCF.

• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized deployments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong interest or experience in AI/ML technologies and their application in enterprise systems.

• Hands on experience with intelligent document processing, including OCR and document classification.

• Experience with Hyperscience or similar OCR/document intelligence platforms.

• Experience integrating OCR pipelines into backend systems.

• Experience working with streaming technologies such as Kafka.

• Deeper experience with GCP services and cloud native architectures.

• Stronger hands on experience with Kubernetes deployments and troubleshooting.

• Experience designing systems focused on scalability, resiliency, observability, and security.
