The Data Governance and Tools team is responsible for enabling data governance across Schwab to ensure the integrity of our

most critical data. Ultimately, we will increase the value and reliability of our data and better leverage it to create competitive

advantage.

The Sr. Specialist, Business Systems Analyst partners closely with governance analysts, business stakeholders, and technology

teams to operationalize data governance requirements across the firm. This role helps stakeholders understand their data

governance obligations, associated policies and standards, and required governance processes.

This position plays a critical role in advancing data quality, metadata management, and stewardship maturity, while driving

consistent adoption of enterprise governance tools and standards.

  • Independently Design, build, and enhance data governance applications and workflows across enterprise platforms
  • including Collibra, Informatica Governance Tools and Spring Boot to support governance, risk reduction, and
  • compliance initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain automated governance solutions, including Data Inventory (DI) Attestation and workflows, to
  • reduce manual effort and improve reliability and scalability.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for workflow design, automation, and troubleshooting within metadata governance
  • platforms.
  • Support system upgrades and platform enhancements for Collibra, Informatica governance tools, and spring boot
  • through hands‑on development, integration updates, and workflow improvements.

Required Qualifications

▪ Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field

▪ Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues using best practices to support live applications

▪ Prioritizes compliance, security, and scalability of data systems

▪ Executes strategies to restore services promptly and address disruptions

▪ Knowledge in REST Webservices and API tooling like Swagger

▪ Validates requirements and constraints to support effective development and operations

▪ Applies best practices to build, test, and validate software components while resolving issues

▪ Consolidates software changes into secure, stable releases using best practices

▪ Project management skills including the ability to effectively juggle multiple, simultaneous work

streams with different timelines and demands

▪ Experience with Collibra Data Governance Center.

• Experience with Workflow / BPMN Development

Preferred Qualifications

•1+ years of data governance or related experience

•Experience with client-side languages such as JavaScript, HTML, AJAX, CSS

•Experience in the financial services industry a plus

•Experience with Big Data Environments

•Experience with Informatica Data Quality, and/or Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog

•Ability to understand, translate and communicate abstract concepts/ideas in a clear, concise, and easy to

understand communication style

• Must demonstrate analytical, problem solving and research skills that allow working with problems that are

complex and often unique

• Strong interpersonal, influencing, prioritization, decision making, and conflict resolution skills

▪ Produces work that meets or exceeds quality expectations

▪ Writes concise, well-structured, and engaging business documents
