We are looking for a Sr. Java developer to join the Fixed Income Trading team. This individual should have a passion to develop innovative solutions, ability to simplify complex business requirements and design to deliver an end-to-end technology solution is key to success in this role.

Fixed Income aka Schwab Bond Source team provides a comprehensive Fixed Income trading platform to Schwab's internal and external clients (schwab.com, Schwab Advisor Center) as well as external dealer and regulatory agency systems. The team's mission is to deliver the best-in-class trading experience to Schwab's internal and external clients. Our goal is to deliver, high security, high availability and excellent customer service by ensuring the three systems are well maintained and continuously enhanced to meet the needs of our clients. Design & Develop Trading Solutions – Lead the technical design of Trading Event Architecture of Java/J2EE Fixed Income Trading  applications, ensuring adherence to performance, resiliency, security, and compliance standards.

Drive UX Experience & Observability – Define and evolve UX patterns and best practices to make the Schwab Bond Source Rep Tool with next generation UX experience; identify KPIs and implement standardized logging, user metrics, and alerting frameworks across trading systems to ensure scalability, and operational visibility.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration – Serve as a functional subject matter expert by leading code reviews, architecture discussions, and cross-functional teams (including offshore); evaluate emerging tools and frameworks, and produce reference implementations and documentation to continuously improve team efficiency and delivery quality.
