Your Opportunity

Schwab remains committed to providing increased visibility to career growth opportunities and job requirements. This posting announcement is part of increased transparency and while all qualified applicants will be reviewed and considered, this organization has a preferred candidate identified for this role.

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

At Charles Schwab, we put clients first—and that commitment starts with the platforms and experiences we create together. The Senior Manager, Product Owner – CMS Core Platform plays a critical role in enabling scalable, reliable, and secure digital content experiences that support Schwab’s client‑centric mission.

As part of the Digital Content Management group, this role owns the strategy, roadmap, and outcomes for Schwab’s CMS Core and Content API ecosystem. You’ll partner across technology, architecture, security, and business teams to deliver platform capabilities that are stable, compliant, and built to scale—while helping teams work better together as One Schwab.

This role translates enterprise and Digital Retail strategy into an outcome‑driven roadmap, balancing near‑term delivery with long‑term platform health so our teams—and our clients—can confidently own tomorrow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and evolve the 12‑month+ product strategy and roadmap for the CMS Core and Content API platforms, aligning priorities to business outcomes and client needs
  • Serve as Product Owner for CMS Core capabilities, including platform stability, security, integrations, and Content APIs
  • Partner closely with engineering, architecture, security, and business teams to deliver API‑first, scalable solutions in a highly regulated environment
  • Maintain accountability for platform health, operational performance, risk management, and continuous improvement
  • Establish and sustain traceability for content APIs, enabling visibility across content creation, distribution, and consumption
  • Facilitate office hours and manage intake as needed.

What you have

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of product management or product ownership experience, including platform or API‑based products
  • Demonstrated experience defining problems, outcomes, and success measures—and adjusting plans based on data and learning
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, complex environments while maintaining focus on outcomes
  • Proven ability to influence and build trust across teams and functions
  • Clear, inclusive communicator who fosters collaboration, accountability, and psychological safety
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience operating as a senior‑level Product Owner or Product Manager within Agile environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience owning platform‑based products in a large, complex enterprise
  • CMS experience (Drupal preferred), including security, performance, and roles/permissions
  • Working knowledge of APIs, integrations, and distributed systems
  • Experience supporting Agile and Lean product practices, including roadmap planning and backlog governance
  • Familiarity with content reusability and distribution through Content APIs
  • Familiarity with enterprise caching strategies (e.g., Aerospike)
  • Experience supporting API adoption across diverse technology consumers

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
