Trade Risk & Resolution performs intermediate and complex functions related to risk management and margin inquiries. The Trade Risk Resolution Sr. Manager people leader role is responsible for talent development, creating trusting environments that foster a challenger mindset, and inspiring innovation, and enhances our culture of risk management. The position requires subject matter expertise in RegT margin related to equities, options, and fixed income products.

Leading a Trade Risk & Resolution professionals, you will:

  • Utilizes the Better Way to Excellence (B2E) process to reinforce team and individual development including huddles, coaching, and core beliefs; spends most of time coaching and supporting professionals
  • Exhibits an “Owners Mentality”, considering broader needs of organization before making decisions; Makes difficult or unpopular decisions when appropriate.
  • Creates environments of continuous improvement through leadership, coaching, and development. Proactively shares best practices with peers and seeks help from others when needed.
  • Be a client advocate - Care enough to ask the difficult questions knowing that just one question, the right question, can change a client’s future.
  • Build strong client and internal relationships - Collaborate in a team-based environment with a diverse group of professionals focused on meeting the clients' needs and Charles Schwab & Co.
  • Anticipates, escalates (as appropriate), and mitigates current and future risk by demonstrating broader business acumen.
  • Identifies gaps in our business model, maintains a solution mindset, and tenaciously breaks down barriers to create positive business outcomes

What you have


To ensure that we fulfill our promise of “challenging the status quo,” this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Active FINRA Series, 7, 9, 10, and 63
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Prior experience with staffing and workforce management
  • Additional functional management or leadership training
  • Robust trading, margins, and excellent understanding of regulatory requirements, and compliance responsibilities
  • Ability to manage trade-off decision with a focus on providing win-win solutions
  • Supports the professional's engagement through informal and formal recognition
  • Passion for service, positive outlook, enthusiasm, professionalism, strong client focus, and a desire to assist individuals in developing their career

Preferred:

  • Additional licenses preferred Series 4 & 24 (may replace Series 9 and 10 requirement), 3, 34, 57
  • Preferably 3-5 years of leadership experience in Client Service, Financial Services and/or Brokerage Services, preferably trading, interacting with clients in a proactive and consultative manner. – Passion for trading and market knowledge; ability to proactively identify and address risk, discuss trading topics, negotiate client resolutions with clients and work well in high stress situations
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of integrity
  • Inspires with vision, optimism, and creativity to embrace change and influence behavioral adoption
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Capacity to work effectively to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment
  • The ability to deliver world class service while managing complex discussions with affluent clients and relationship-focused work style with demonstrated success in a team environment.
  • Practical time management & communication skills, positive demeanor, enthusiasm, professionalism, a strong work ethic with a high integrity level

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
