WAS Technology –WealthManagement (WM) Engineering is an organization within Schwab Technology Services aligned to support the technology needs of Schwab Asset Management (SAM), Wealth & Advice Solutions (WAS), the Schwab Center for Financial Research (SCFR), and Third-Party Platform teams.
This newly created role will support the future growth of the WAS business. As ajuniorhands-on Developer of Software Development Engineering, you will enable WME to achieve consistent, predictable, high-quality delivery by implementing best practices, tools, metrics, automation frameworks, and provide oversight in the areas of software development and testing.You’llserve as a strong and versatile hands-on technical leader. You will deliver high-quality solutions that meet businessobjectivesin a flexible, collaborative, and rapidly changing environment.
You will play a critical role in supporting key stakeholders across the WAS organization which is focused on high-net worth and ultra-high net worth retail investors. Supported business functions span Schwab’s Wealth and Investment Solutions including Schwab Wealth Advisory. You will be working with a team of talented and highly motivated technologists that strive to make technology a strategic differentiator for Schwab’s WAS business and their clients.
What you have
Follow the lead, implementstoriesand collaboratewith partners to deliver Integration Fabric platform across the full software development lifecycle - designing, developing, testing, and support.Design,implement, influence, and refine architecture designs and technologies to develop various components of an Integration Fabric.Implementand coach on software development best practices as the go-to development partner for the scrum team members.Coachteam members on software development best practices and data integration patterns.Assistleaders with talent acquisition byidentifyingresource needs, interviewing candidates, and onboarding new engineers and analysts
What you have
To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum2+ years’ experience coding in Java, building REST and/or SOAP based APIs using Spring boot.
- Minimum1years’ experience working with SQL performing DML operations using Java Spring boot.
- Minimum1years’ experienceutilizingSpring Batch to perform data ingestion,transformationand integrations.
- Minimum1years’ experience writing automated unit, integration, and acceptance tests for back-end services, Messaging queues, datainterfacesand data pipelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with scheduling tools like Control-M.
- Experience with RabbitMQ andPostgresqldatabase.
- Experience withdevelopmentstools such as - JMeter, GitHub, Harness, Launch Darklyis a plus.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as PCF (on-prem) and GCP / AWS (public).
- Work with development teams at theappropriate stagesto ensure the support strategy guidelines arefollowedand new systems or projects meet the Production standards.
- Constantly update knowledge repository, ensure informationregardingany support related activities or issues are available and easily accessible.
- Responsible for servicing all requests for data or other activities that require access to Production systems.
- Wealth Management and/or Financial Services industry experience.
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
