You will be engaged in the preparation and execution of work in several phases of the systems
development life cycle including planning, configuration, monitoring, administration and
maintenance in a business critical environment. You will work hands on and within the team to
improve process, communication, capacity, reliability and capabilities. You will continually look
to improve the reliability and effectiveness of the services by implementing monitoring, and
correcting tactical and strategic direction where necessary and work with Vendors to
troubleshoot system specific problems. You will improve vendor relationships by effectively
managing response expectations and driving delivery as well as facilitate coordination of Vendor,
Schwab Infrastructure, and tech team contributions to resolve problems.
What you’re good at
Responsibilities will include:
• Provide guidance and support for performance, availability, CI/CD, automation, and monitoring/alerting for the Schwab.com SRE team.
• Work with technical and agile teams to prioritize backlog work and incidents
• Where possible, lead and train others within the team to increase team capabilities and capacity
• Automate deployment, infrastructure and monitoring tools and systems
• Enhance, maintain and support various platforms including .Net, Java, Linux and Windows
• Support disaster recovery planning and testing
• Develop and improve documentation, diagrams, processes and technology
• Identify opportunities to improve telemetry, monitoring and increase application reliability
• Document processes using a knowledge base repository.
• Work through root cause analysis and develop remediation plans to improve reliability
• Drive resolution of issues/ completion of work and provide updates to stakeholders as needed
• Other duties as assigned
What you have

Qualifications
• 3-6 years of systems support, scripting, or developing in an enterprise environment
• Passion for learning, reliability, automation, orchestration and continual improvement
• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience desired
• Solid foundation of Windows and or Linux
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Enterprise batch scheduling tools a plus
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
