Your Opportunity

Digital Retail Product Operations is seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Business Programs to help shape and advance high-priority strategic initiatives across the organization. This role works upstream of delivery teams to clarify business problems, align stakeholders, define governance and operating models, and establish the conditions for successful execution.

The successful candidate excels in ambiguity, can quickly synthesize complex business challenges into actionable plans, and is skilled at driving alignment across multiple lines of business. This role serves as a strategic partner to leaders by helping transform emerging opportunities into well-defined, decision-ready programs with clear ownership, outcomes, and success measures.

Purpose

Advance critical Digital Retail priorities by partnering with leaders across Product, Product Operations, Technology, Strategy, Operations, Risk, and other business functions to shape initiatives before they become formal projects. The role focuses on discovery, business readiness, governance, stakeholder alignment, operating models, and outcome realization while flexing to support broader organizational priorities as business needs evolve.

Core Accountabilities

Discovery Leadership

  • Frame ambiguous business problems into a clear opportunity including hypothesis, scope, impacted stakeholders, value proposition, success measures, and decision path.

  • Develop business cases, recommendations, and leadership-ready materials that enable informed investment and prioritization decisions.

  • Help leaders evaluate opportunities, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs before initiatives move into execution.

Cross-LOB Orchestration

  • Convene product, design, risk, marketing, operations, technology, and business partners across organizational boundaries.

  • Surface dependencies, conflicts, risks, and gaps early and facilitate resolution through structured decision-making.

  • Establish alignment across stakeholders without relying on formal authority.

Set-Up for Success

  • Define governance structures, operating models, decision rights, roles, responsibilities, intake processes, and engagement approaches for strategic initiatives.

  • Establish clear handoffs to delivery teams so initiatives enter execution with agreed-upon scope, outcomes, ownership, and success measures.

  • Create structures that enable scalable and repeatable program execution.

Business Case and Outcomes

  • Own the value narrative from opportunity identification through outcome realization.

  • Define expected benefits, measurement approaches, success criteria, and accountability mechanisms.

  • Partner with stakeholders to validate whether intended outcomes were achieved and identify opportunities for optimization.

Flexible Deployment

  • Take assignments directly from leadership priorities and move between efforts as those priorities shift, with a clear entry and exit point for each engagement.

  • Support broader Product Operations priorities as organizational needs evolve.

  • Responsibilities may include adoption and change enablement, training and learning support, workforce readiness, operating model development, process improvement, governance support, and scalable infrastructure-building efforts.

  • Apply program management capabilities across a broad range of organizational effectiveness and strategic business initiatives, adapting support where it will create the greatest impact.

Executive Communication

  • Translate complex, multi-party efforts into concise updates, recommendations, decision requests, and executive-ready materials.

  • Present information in a way that enables leaders to understand progress, risks, trade-offs, and required actions.

  • Support leadership alignment and organizational decision-making through effective communication and facilitation.

Success Measures

  • Strategic initiatives reach investment and prioritization decisions faster.

  • Stakeholders are aligned on scope, governance, ownership, and expected outcomes before work enters delivery.

  • Cross-functional dependencies and risks are surfaced and resolved earlier.

  • Programs transition cleanly into execution with minimal rework or ambiguity.

  • Leadership receives actionable recommendations and decision-ready information.

  • Governance, operating models, and supporting structures improve organizational effectiveness and execution consistency.

  • The role can be rapidly redeployed to address evolving strategic priorities and emerging business needs.
