Senior Manager, Marketing Process
Your Opportunity
Schwab remains committed to providing increased visibility to career growth opportunities and job requirements. This posting announcement is part of increased transparency and while all qualified applicants will be reviewed and considered, this organization has a preferred candidate identified for this role.
At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.
We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location.
Marketing Technology & Enablement drives the capabilities that enable Marketing to scale. We connect strategy, technology, data, AI, operations, and execution into an integrated ecosystem that improves marketer productivity, simplifies execution, strengthens governance, and accelerates business outcomes. Our mission is to ensure Schwab's marketing organization has the tools, platforms, processes, and expertise required to deliver exceptional client experiences while operating with greater efficiency and agility.
This role is within our Marketing AI Center of Excellence (COE) & Process team and is focused on defining and optimizing how marketing work gets done. They will leverage process governance, automation and AI to create scalable, efficient, and compliant ways of working that improve marketing performance, accelerate innovation, and maximize business value across the organization.
In this role, you will:
- Serve as the overall owner of the marketing process — defining, documenting, and continuously improving how work gets done across Marketing end to end, and aligning the people, process, and technology components into a single, connected experience.
- Lead process transformation efforts partnering across Marketing, Technology, Operations, and Risk to simplify workflows, clarify ownership, improve handoffs, and deliver measurable gains in speed, quality, and marketer experience.
- Establish and mature Marketing process governance, including intake, prioritization, operating routines, decision rights, standards, and controls that create consistency, improve transparency, and reduce execution risk across teams.
- Collaborate with the Marketing change management team to bring new processes and AI-enabled ways of working to life; supporting stakeholder alignment, clear communications, training, adoption tracking, and integration into the way marketers work day to day so teams can successfully adopt and sustain the changes.
- Optimize both internal and external marketing processes — from internal intake, briefing, creative development, review and approval, and delivery through external agency, vendor, and partner workflows — standardizing handoffs, service levels, and quality controls to reduce cycle time, rework, and cost.
What you have
To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years in marketing operations, or process leadership, including direct experience owning marketing processes and leading technology-, automation-, and AI-enabled transformation in a large, matrixed organization with measurable business outcomes.
- Strong relationship-builder with cross-functional collaboration skills to earn trust, influence across functions, and partner effectively with Marketing, Technology, Operations, Risk, and external partners to drive alignment
- Hands-on experience working within marketing execution — campaign development, creative and content production, review and approval, and delivery — with a clear understanding of where friction, rework, and risk occur.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments — bringing structure to undefined problems, aligning stakeholders around priorities, and driving progress within evolving requirements.
- Experience coordinating high-performing teams of subject matter experts, creating clarity around priorities, roles, and deliverables while enabling specialists to contribute their expertise effectively.
- Ability to support technical teams advancing digital solutions by translating business needs, process requirements, and user pain points into actionable delivery inputs.
- Experience navigating governance across internal teams, including decision rights, approvals, risk considerations, and stakeholder alignment required to move process and technology initiatives forward within a highly regulated industry.
- Proven ownership of end-to-end marketing processes, including documentation, intake and prioritization, decision rights, controls, and the operating routines required to sustain them at scale.
- Track record of optimizing processes using technology, workflow automation, and integration across platforms to remove manual steps, reduce cycle time, and improve quality and consistency.
- Applied lean and agile thinking — value stream mapping, waste elimination, iterative delivery, and continuous improvement — supported by metrics that show measurable gains in speed, capacity, and marketer experience.
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate marketer needs into clear capability requirements and roadmaps.
- Experience preparing and delivering presentations, with strong executive-level storytelling.
- Challenger mindset: continuously improve scale, efficiency, and marketer experience.
