Our Content Management System (CMS) Product Management team partners across the firm to help digital content owners deliver clear, consistent, and clientfocused experiences. From web to mobile to email and beyond, we ensure content meets clients where they are and supports how they engage with Schwab.

As a Senior Content Strategist, you will play a critical role in advancing Schwab’s omnichannel content management capabilities. You will partner closely with product managers, engineers, and content leaders across the organization to define scalable, structured content solutions that enable reuse, consistency, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead content audits, assessments, and content modeling sessions to define structured content, metadata, and taxonomy that support reuse and portability across channels
  • Create and maintain content APIs, schemas, and publishing standards to enable teams to adopt CMS capabilities with minimal engineering effort
  • Partner with Marketing, Compliance, Product, and Technology to design and operationalize omnichannel workflows, governance practices, and content lifecycle management
  • Translate content needs into clear, scalable platform requirements by influencing stakeholders and aligning on priorities, decisions, and delivery timelines
  • Define and champion content standards and guardrails, including naming conventions, required fields, and validation rules, to improve quality and consistency
  • Collaborate with analytics, search, and support partners to identify content and findability gaps and recommend improvements to models, taxonomy, and guidance
  • Manage platform taxonomy governance in alignment with teams across Schwab to enable consistent metadata across content systems
  • Foster a culture of trust, transparency, and shared ownership through thoughtful communication, decision records, and durable documentation

What you have


To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working with content management systems; Drupal and headless CMS platforms such as Contentful or Sanity are a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in content strategy, UX writing, technical content strategy, or a related
  • Discipline
  • Working knowledge of APIs, including REST concepts, endpoints, and authentication, with experience partnering with engineers on implementation
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing structured content models, including fields, relationships, metadata, and reusable components
  • Experience with AI tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Comfort working with structured formats such as JSON and or XML
  • Experience with metadata and taxonomy practices that improve content reuse and findability, including collaboration with search and analytics teams
  • Technical writing or platform documentation experience
