Senior Cloud Data Production Support Operations Manager

• Drive formulation of documentation, standards and production support processes for the
Cloud Data Warehouse production platforms and applications aligned with enterprise policies.
• Develop, maintain, and support large-scale and complex Cloud Data applications.
• Proactively detect, troubleshoot, and resolve all issues affecting production applications.
This involves coordination with and escalation in developing the external teams where necessary.
This team owns all production support issues escalated to Schwab Data until they are resolved, or
a workaround is provided to end users.
• Provide clear, concise, and timely communication to affected parties during the
investigation and resolution of any individual or system-wide outages. Ensure and enforce the
Change Management hygiene for all changes propagated to production from a support and
Steady State transition standpoint.
• Partner with development teams at the appropriate stages in application development to
ensure any new systems or projects meet the Production Readiness standards.
• Partner with Business stakeholders in educating and navigating them through the Schwab
Technology Services (STS) standards and policies for new projects or enhancements to existing
investments.
• Effectively navigate and support Incident and Change Management processes with an end-
to-end understanding of the system flows and technology landscape.
• Constantly update knowledge repository, and ensure seamless availability and
accessibility of information regarding in context of support related activities or issues. Service all
requests for data or other activities that require access to Production systems.
• Improve self-reliance and reduce dependency on the availability of development or
external team resources for the initial troubleshooting and resolution of problems.
• Drive and support cross-functional large-scale production releases and rollouts. Provide
technical oversight for junior team members and interns on day-to-day activities
What you have
To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related engineering
degree
• 8+ years Production and Operations Support experience in a technical, data analytics
and/or applications engineering/architecture/support role, with relevant technical leadership
• 5+ years of hands on experience in Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC).
• 5+ years of Google Cloud Platform experience, including Big Query, GCS and Dataprocs.
• 5+ years of job orchestration and scheduler experience, preferably Control-M
• Experience in CI/CD, Github and Python
• Ability to think structurally on engineering upgrades - able to engage, challenge, and
elevate the thinking of your team; Strong problem-solving skills and ability to focus on details as
well as the big picture
• Proven track record of implementing operation efficiency through automation and
implementing self healing features
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, often changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment
• Passionate about meeting customer needs and data delivery
