The Managing Director, Workplace Services is responsible for leading the strategies, experiences, communications, education, and engagement capabilities that help Schwab deliver exceptional outcomes for workplace clients, plan sponsors, participants, and employees. This leader serves as a key architect of Schwab's Workplace growth strategy, ensuring we create differentiated experiences that strengthen client relationships, deepen engagement, improve retention, and support long-term growth across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Drive Workplace Growth
- Develop strategies that increase participant engagement, asset retention, client satisfaction, and long-term relationship value.
- Partner with Workplace business leaders to identify and capture growth opportunities across retirement, stock plan, and workplace solutions.
- Create programs that connect Workplace participants to the full breadth of Schwab's capabilities and services.
- Establish and deliver against measurable business outcomes aligned to Workplace objectives.
Amplify the Client Experience
- Develop and continuously improve audience strategy and positioning.
- Design seamless, sequenced, personalized participant and client experience touchpoints across onboarding, education, communications, and service interactions.
- Ensure experiences are grounded in client needs and informed by participant insights and feedback.
- Turn complex financial topics into confident action through effective education and communication strategies.
- Create integrated journeys that support participants across channels, products, and life stages.
Build Scalable Capabilities
- Strengthen operational trust by developing accurate, timely, repeatable, efficient, and compliant communications and education frameworks that can scale across Workplace businesses.
- Drive automation, technology enablement, and process improvement to increase effectiveness and reduce operational complexity.
- Anticipate barriers to execution and address dependencies that could impact client, participant, or regulatory commitments.
- Balance innovation with disciplined execution and operational excellence.
Lead Transformation and Enterprise Alignment
- Partner across Schwab to advance One Schwab experiences and create seamless client journeys.
- Align stakeholders around shared priorities and measurable outcomes.
- Help shape the future vision for Workplace Services and translate strategy into action.
- Lead through ambiguity and change while maintaining focus, momentum, and organizational confidence.
Shape Workplace Positioning and Storytelling
- Develop compelling narratives that articulate the value of Schwab Workplace Services to clients, participants, consultants, advisors, and internal partners.
- Ensure consistency across messaging, communications, education, and go-to-market activities.
- Strengthen Schwab's position as a leader in workplace financial services.
Build and Lead High-Performing Teams
- Develop diverse, engaged, and high-performing teams through coaching, empowerment, accountability, and clear expectations.

What you have
Required Experience
- Deep marketing expertise, including experience shaping marketing strategy, influencing executive stakeholders, developing audience segmentation, defining value propositions, positioning, messaging, campaign strategy, and go-to-market execution in support of business growth.
- Significant leadership experience in financial services, workplace solutions, retirement, stock plan, participant engagement, client experience, communications, education, or related businesses.
- Demonstrated ability to set strategy, translate priorities into executable plans, and deliver measurable business outcomes in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Proven track record leading large-scale client, participant, or employee experience initiatives that improve engagement, retention, satisfaction, and growth.
- Experience building scalable operating models, communications frameworks, education strategies, and technology-enabled capabilities that support consistent execution.
- Strong enterprise leadership skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders, align cross-functional partners, and lead through ambiguity and change.
- Experience developing, coaching, and inspiring high-performing teams, with a focus on accountability, collaboration, talent development, and organizational health.
