The Portfolio Management Technology team is looking for a talented technologist to develop software and solutions for our private cloud-based trading platform. The team is responsible for building ultra-low latency, high volume, and reliable next generation trading platform. The application should support processing several billions of transactions during market hours. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly visible team that delivers innovative business solutions leveraging emerging technologies at Schwab. You will be working with a team of talented technologists and SMEs who bring a lot of energy, focus and fresh ideas that support our mission to provide value by seeing the world “Through Clients' Eyes”.
What You Are Good At
Evaluating complex user requests and clarifying and communicating the objectives in a clear and concise manner
Conducting and preparing feasibility studies for new and existing applications
Leading projects with moderate complexity and scope
Making a positive influence on your team members and peers
Providing technical expertise
Working on Proof Of Concepts (POCs) using new/emerging technology/tools
What you have
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Hands on experience gained through 7-8+ years in a software development role
5+ years of Schwab technology domain experience gained as a current or recent contractor or employee
Experience with full stack application development technologies, RESTful APIs, Relational and Document-Based databases, and Cloud technologies
The ability to work independently and to effectively interact and collaborate with all types of stakeholders, both technical and business, peers, and leaders
The ability work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
The ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and learn new technologies
Strong customer focus with a sense of ownership and determination to drive solutions in a collaborative environment
Required - Excellent coding experience in C#/.NET (7+ years)
Required - Working experience with IBM MQ, Kafka, Aerospike (NoSQL) database, Splunk (logging), JSON/XML, PCF (Cloud), Caching, Performance Analysis & Profiling, Twelve-Factor App Methodology, Resiliency Patterns, Observability Patterns, Agile Practices etc.
Required - Working experience building scalable and High-Performance applications
Required – Experience being a technical lead for a team and/or project.
Desired - Expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Docker and Kubernetes
Desired - Familiarity with Schwab Technology ecosystem.
