The Scrum Master plays a hands-on leadership role in guiding software development teams through the effective adoption and continuous improvement of Scrum and Agile practices. As a servant leader, they coach teams to higher levels of maturity, facilitate collaboration, remove impediments, and ensure adherence to Agile principles and the Scrum framework. They partner closely with Product Owners to manage and execute prioritized backlogs, drive continuous improvement, and foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and delivery excellence. Strong communication, facilitation, conflict resolution, and organizational skills are essential to help teams deliver business value efficiently.

Within Fixed Income Trading (Schwab Bond Source), the Scrum Master supports the delivery of a critical trading platform serving Schwab's internal and external clients, including schwab.com, Schwab Advisor Center, dealer networks, and regulatory agencies. Beyond supporting the successful delivery of strategic initiatives within the team, the role often leads cross-functional projects that span the broader Trading Technology Solutions organization. The Scrum Master acts as a delivery champion by promoting collaboration across teams, establishing and tracking meaningful performance metrics, driving operational excellence, and helping improve organizational effectiveness through guidance, coaching, and best practices.


As a Scrum Master, you will lead and facilitate Agile delivery for teams supporting large-scale, business-critical trading applications.

•          Lead and support Agile-based software delivery by establishing Scrum standards, best practices, tools, and processes that enable high-performing teams.
•          Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and Agile events, including PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Reviews, Retrospectives, Demos, Scrum of Scrums, and team readouts.
•          Drive transparency and predictability through Jira and Agile metrics, maintaining accurate tracking, reporting, and process documentation.
•          Leverage Fixed Income Trading domain expertise to support business objectives, onboard new team members, and bridge collaboration between business and technology teams.
•          Coach teams on Agile principles, fostering collaboration, accountability, prioritization, self-organization, and continuous improvement.
•          Partner with Product Owners, development managers, and technical leads to support backlog refinement, capacity planning, story estimation, and delivery commitments.
•          Identify, escalate, and remove impediments while proactively managing dependencies and minimizing distractions that impact team delivery.
•          Facilitate effective communication, stakeholder alignment, conflict resolution, and cross-team collaboration to ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives.
•          Improve team productivity and delivery outcomes using metrics, retrospectives, and data-driven process enhancements, ensuring each increment is potentially releasable.

What you have


To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications

•          6+ years of Scrum Master experience facilitating Agile teams, leading Scrum ceremonies, coaching teams, and driving continuous improvement.
•          3+ years of experience supporting Fixed Income Trading applications, with strong knowledge of the order lifecycle from Order Entry through Execution and Regulatory Reporting.
•          2+ years of experience leading Program Increment (PI) Planning and coordinating delivery across multiple teams and organizations.
•          Proven experience with Agile work management and collaboration tools, including Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo.
•          Experience leveraging modern developer productivity tools, including VS Code and MCP integrations, to automate reporting and improve team efficiency.
•          Strong servant leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and empower teams to achieve high performance.
•          Excellent communication, facilitation, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across geographically distributed teams.
•          Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile estimation techniques, backlog management, and delivery tracking to ensure transparency and predictable outcomes.
•          Self-motivated and adaptable leader with a proven ability to navigate competing priorities, resolve impediments, negotiate priorities across business and technology stakeholders, and drive successful delivery of strategic initiatives
