This position involves primarily servicing Schwab’s largest segment of active trading clients which comprise the largest % of total revenue as a group. Specialists handle inbound and outbound calls, and inbound chats, in a fast-paced, market- sensitive environment, which requires the ability to multitask in handling multiple clients simultaneously. Duties include order entry, client and firm risk analysis and management, relationship building and management, and counsel, software tutorials, mentorship of clients through education on our most complex strategies and products, and gathering assets through negotiation, education, and cross-sell opportunities. The goal is to help clients develop their trading expertise and grow their portfolios by imparting the knowledge and supporting the tools these actively engaged clients use to make them a more sophisticated, successful self-directed investor. Associates in this position will possess an advanced level of knowledge of trading equities, derivatives (options, futures), and foreign exchange for not only our clients, but also within Retail Trading, Retail Sales, Investor Services, Retail Support and Marketing.
This role is responsible for helping clients develop their trading expertise and grow their portfolios by imparting the knowledge and supporting the tools trader clients use to make them a more sophisticated, successful, and self-directed investor. This position is the subject matter expert in trading equities, derivatives (options, futures), and foreign exchange for not only our clients, but the goal is also to help clients develop their trading expertise and grow their portfolios by imparting the knowledge and supporting the tools these actively engaged clients use to make them a more sophisticated, successful self-directed investor. Representatives in this position will possess an advanced level of knowledge of trading equities, derivatives (options/futures), and foreign exchange.
Grow business through asset gathering and product cross-sell while retaining assets through client confidence and loyalty. Leverage industry knowledge and platform expertise to send well-positioned business leads to our partners in Retail Sales, Education and Trader Business Development. Influence and close business for Retails Sales associates by presenting self-directed active trader clients and prospects with industry standard for market understanding. Attract additional assets and business from our fully engaged clients, by meeting their service, education and trading resource needs
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of “challenging the status quo,” this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years’ experience servicing retail international clients and an equivalent level of knowledge of securities industry
- Extensive knowledge of Schwab’s international client rules, jurisdictional governance, product limitations and nuances with servicing non-US customers
- Professional trader level of expertise in equities, complex option strategy and risk, portfolio margin, futures, forex, market structure and a detailed knowledge of the securities industry and capital markets.
- Ability to teach and display expert-level knowledge and understanding of complex concepts to clients and associates of varying levels of expertise
- Displays the confidence, skill and professionalism demanded by active traders to resolve time- sensitive, and possible costly issues in a manner that strengthens the client relationship and mitigates risk for the firm
- Must have necessary sense of urgency, ability to multitask and strong judgment and prioritization skills
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to teach and display expert-level knowledge and understanding of complex concepts to clients and associates of varying levels of expertise
- Series 7, 63 required
- Series 3 required
- Series 9 &10 required
- Must be willing to obtain Series 34 (FOREX) license
Preferred:
- Mandarin, Cantonese, or Spanish proficiency preferred
- Certified Market Technician (CMT) or other technical designation is preferred
- Deep Knowledge of FINRA sanctioned trading rules, Schwab Brokerage's internal trading policies and procedures, Schwab Clearing's functions preferred
In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
