The Workplace Client Banking Services (WCBS) Onboarding organization is dedicated to delivering a world-class onboarding and development experience for new and developing professionals across WCBS. This role primarily supports Retirement Plan Services (RPS) and Stock Plan Services (SPS) onboarding programs while maintaining flexibility to support additional WCBS business lines as organizational needs evolve.

As an Individual Contributor Manager Mentor in WCBS, you will serve as a trusted coach, subject matter expert, and onboarding partner responsible for supporting professionals through onboarding and nesting experiences. Through coaching, mentoring, readiness assessments, and real-time support, you will help accelerate learner confidence, strengthen risk awareness, and create consistent onboarding experiences that support exceptional participant and client outcomes.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and support onboarding and nesting cohorts through training transition and readiness milestones.
  • Provide coaching and actionable feedback through live monitoring, call reviews, side-by-side observations, and chat support.
  • Assess learner readiness and develop targeted coaching strategies that accelerate performance and confidence.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on systems, servicing processes, policies, procedures, and Knowledge Center resources.
  • Partner with leaders, trainers, and business partners to deliver a consistent onboarding experience and support learner success.
  • Coach and develop mentors, assist with mentor onboarding, and promote consistency across onboarding programs.
  • Identify performance trends, servicing challenges, and process improvement opportunities, and provide solution-oriented recommendations.
  • Analyze onboarding effectiveness, learner outcomes, and readiness metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support onboarding logistics, learner support models, and program readiness activities to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Identify operational, compliance, conduct, or employee concerns and elevate as appropriate.
  • Champion Schwab's Through Clients' Eyes philosophy, service excellence standards, and commitment to reducing participant effort.
  • Participate in special projects and strategic onboarding initiatives that support WCBS business objectives.

What you have


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of experience in WCBS or a comparable CS&S organization.
  • Minimum one year of previous mentoring, coaching, onboarding, facilitation, or employee development experience in WCBS.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and coach others without direct authority.
  • Strong understanding of participant servicing, operational processes, risk management, and client experience principles.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-directed with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Passion for employee development, coaching, and helping others succeed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active FINRA Series 7, 63, and 9/10 licenses.
  • Demonstrated success developing mentors and improving onboarding outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of RPS and SPS servicing models, business processes, and stakeholder partnerships.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and implementing solutions based on data and learner feedback.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
