Your Opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

The Manager, Product Management/Marketing - Pricing Team is responsible for developing, executing, and governing pricing strategies that support business growth, client retention, competitive positioning, and profitability objectives. The position partners with Sales, Relationship Management, Product, Finance, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Technology, and business leadership to evaluate pricing opportunities, administer pricing exceptions, strengthen pricing controls, and support product and project initiatives.

The role combines pricing analysis, product management, project management, business-development support, operational governance, and continuous improvement. The incumbent translates business needs and market considerations into accurate, actionable pricing recommendations and coordinates implementation across relevant internal teams.

In addition to the primary pricing team management responsibilities, the role will also be responsible for performing analysis of the market, competition, and clients need to identify opportunities to grow the business. As needed, the manager may be responsible for developing enhancements to existing feature/functionality, and developing and supporting new products targeted at retirement plan RIAs, independent recordkeepers and Third-Party Administrators (TPA).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Pricing Strategy, Analysis, and Administration:

  • Analyze pricing exceptions and collaborate with Sales and Relationship Management partners to develop clear, supportable business cases and pricing recommendations that consider client needs, expected revenue, profitability, product requirements, competitive factors, and applicable business controls; communicate approved pricing arrangements to internal teams to ensure accurate implementation, billing, and ongoing administration; review fee schedules, pricing language, rates, and formatting for consistency and identify corrective actions when issues are found; and support profitability calculations, product monitoring, pricing reviews, and recurring reporting.

Product and Project Management:

  • Serve as a product-management resource for assigned RBS, CSTB projects and product offerings, applying data analytics to business acquisition strategies; coordinate cross-functional initiatives by organizing stakeholders, defining agenda items, documenting decisions, identifying next steps, and following through on commitments; assess project scope, dependencies, resource needs, reporting requirements, risks, and implementation timing; support product documentation, regulatory or compliance-driven changes, and implementation readiness; and partner with business and technology teams to define workflow, reporting, and system requirements for pricing and billing processes.

Controls, Monitoring, and Risk Management

  • Maintain and improve recurring deal-monitoring processes for arrangements with product requirements or other negotiated terms, identifying billing, pricing, documentation, and process exceptions and coordinating timely resolution with the appropriate teams; maintain supporting documentation, procedures, approval records, and status reporting in accordance with business-control expectations; and assist with audit, legal, compliance, and regulatory requests related to assigned products and pricing processes.

Business Partnership and Communication

  • Build effective working relationships across all client-facing and internal support teams; present analyses, recommendations, project updates, and key decisions clearly to stakeholders at multiple organizational levels; provide concise meeting notes, action items, and follow-up communications that create accountability and maintain momentum; and support business-development and client-retention efforts through timely pricing and product analysis, reporting, and operational coordination.

Process Improvement and Reporting

  • Identify opportunities to automate or simplify product monitoring, pricing-exception processing, profitability calculations, and recurring reporting; improve data quality, workflow transparency, reporting usability, and procedural consistency; and develop practical tools and documentation that enable efficient execution and effective oversight.
