Director, Strategy & Initiatives – Retail Sales Effectiveness

The Director of Retail Sales Effectiveness is a strategic and execution leader responsible for improving the productivity, consistency, and client impact of retail sales teams by optimizing processes, influencing product and platform strategy, and driving adoption across the field. This role serves as a critical bridge between frontline sales, field leadership, and platform partners, ensuring that business investments translate into measurable improvements in sales outcomes and rep and client experiences. The Director, Retail Sales Effectiveness will lead a team of individual contributors and report to the Managing Director, Field Operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Synthesize and elevate the voice of the field, leveraging structured insights from sales professionals and leadership to inform the evolution of sales processes (current state / future state business process definition, rep workflow friction points, etc) and translate findings into strategic recommendations, business cases, and enterprise-level prioritization decisions
  • Influence product, platform, AI and rep experience strategy, partnering with cross-functional leaders to shape roadmaps, define business requirements, articulate rep experience needs and advocate for scalable, rep-centric solutions that seamlessly support client engagement across the retail organization
  • Establish and lead enterprise feedback mechanisms, creating disciplined, ongoing forums that connect sales professionals and product teams to ensure continuous alignment, transparency, and responsiveness to field needs
  • Champion enterprise-wide adoption of sales processes, tools, and capabilities, driving alignment across strategy, enablement, and execution to ensure sustained behavior change and measurable impact on sales productivity and client outcomes
  • Partner with enablement and field leadership to operationalize strategy, ensuring effective translation of strategic priorities into field-ready approaches that drive adoption, consistency, and long-term behavior change at scale

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • A client-centric focus that keeps clients and sales professionals in the forefront of decisions and connects plans and actions to our purpose of serving investors and branch network personnel.
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships and working with cross-functional teams to design and deliver field experience initiatives, including evaluating opportunities and making recommendations based on the unique needs of the business.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including being able to synthesize data, develop cohesive business cases and recommendations, and influence partners.
  • Strong presentation skills, including building and presenting a compelling vision focused on the ability to influence both senior executives and sales leaders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented and skilled in operating at both strategic and tactical levels with the ability to multi-task and work efficiently to meet deadlines on an independent basis.
  • Ability to gain respect and support of senior leadership, partners and peers and lead a team of individuals in delivering against our strategy.
  • Forward-thinking and, with attention to detail

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years relevant experience
  • 5+ years in consulting, strategy, product management, sales operations or client experience roles preferred
  • Prior experience at the Director level, including managing people

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Financial Services industry experience is preferred.
  • Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a complex, dynamic environment.
  • Outstanding "soft" skills - including ability to work well with a diverse range of partners and proactive, can-do attitude.

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
