Your Opportunity

Charles Schwab's Digital Retail product team builds key experiences for retail clients and maintains digital platforms that help clients manage their financial lives and achieve their goals. We collaborate across product, engineering, design, business, and data teams to create experiences that are intuitive, trusted, and scalable. Our mission is not only to deliver great client experiences, but also to build the shared capabilities that power those experiences across Schwab.com and the Mobile App.

We are looking for a Digital Product Manager to lead the strategy, evolution, and cross-platform adoption of Schwab's Core Capability API (cAPI) platform. This role sits at the intersection of client experience, business enablement, platform architecture, and emerging technology. You will define how reusable business capabilities are delivered and consumed across Schwab's digital ecosystem, ensuring teams can build faster, create more relevant experiences, and adapt to expanding business and client expectations.

Are you energized by solving complex platform challenges that impact millions of clients? Do you enjoy connecting business goals, client needs, and technology strategy into a cohesive product vision? Are you excited about helping shape how APIs, client data, and technology ecosystems come together to power the future of Schwab Digital? We would love to talk to you about this role.

What You'll Do

As a Digital Product Manager, Core Capability APIs, you will be responsible for defining the product strategy and requirements for critical client profile capability APIs that enable digital experiences across Schwab's retail ecosystem. You will serve as the bridge between business outcomes, client experience needs, and platform technology investments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Own the vision, roadmap, and product direction for Schwab's Core Capability API layer, ensuring platform capabilities continue to meet evolving client, business, and technology needs.

  • Develop a deep understanding of client journeys, business objectives, and platform dependencies to identify capability gaps and prioritize high-value opportunities.

  • Partner closely with engineering, architecture, product, and business teams to onboard new products, capabilities, and client segments into the digital ecosystem while influencing platform modernization initiatives, including O2 and Client Data Technology evolution.

  • Define and prioritize reusable platform capabilities that can be built once and leveraged across Schwab.com, Mobile App, AI-powered experiences, and future digital channels, scaling with growth of the business for new client opportunities, account types and targeted offerings

  • Partner with Client Data, Architecture, Experience Product, and Technology teams to define how client identity, preferences, permissions, and activity data can be represented and accessed across digital experiences.

  • Drive the evolution of APIs beyond basic system integrations and data pass-throughs by leveraging client profile, behavioral, and activity data to enable more contextual, personalized, and relevant experiences.

  • Build strong partnerships and alignment across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Data, Operations, Compliance, and Risk organizations to drive execution and platform adoption.

  • Influence strategic decisions through clear communication, storytelling, business cases, and executive presentations.

What you have

  • 5+ years of product management, platform product management, API product management or technology product leadership experience.

  • Strong understanding of the business needs and the way we identify and articulate clients and accounts at Schwab across our ecosystem

  • Experience owning product roadmaps and prioritization decisions for platform capabilities, APIs, data products, or shared technology services.

  • Strong understanding of API ecosystems, service-oriented architectures, digital platforms, and modern integration patterns.

  • Experience working closely with software engineering and architecture teams to define and deliver scalable platform solutions.

  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated experience identifying opportunities that create reusable capabilities, reduce duplication, and drive efficiency across organizations.

  • Ability to lead through influence and build consensus across cross-functional teams and multiple levels of leadership.

  • Curiosity and passion for emerging technologies, including AI, LLMs, data platforms, personalization ecosystems, and external digital platforms.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts to executive audiences.

Success in This Role Looks Like

  • Digital teams can rapidly consume reusable capabilities rather than building similar solutions multiple times.

  • Schwab experiences become increasingly personalized through effective use of client context and behavioral data.

  • Platform capabilities support consistent experiences across Schwab.com, Mobile App, and emerging channels.

  • New business initiatives can be launched faster through scalable API-enabled services with more efficient and localized coordination across experience teams
