Would you like to be part of a new team chartered to build the next generation data & analytics platform supporting Customer Analytics? As part of Schwab's Client Analytics Technology team, you will contribute to the development and deployment of data assets instrumental in capturing our clients' activity, which is used to inform critical business decisions and elevating our clients' experiences. You’ll collaborate with data engineering & analytics teams to design and deliver new data pipelines, support data analysts and data scientists, maintain documentation and ensure compliance with published policies and standards, while mentoring junior team members and supporting their technical and professional growth.

• Collaborating with business partners to understand data requirements and use cases for a portfolio of applications, provide prescriptive design guidance on the best fit schema design, data movement, processing, and analytical patterns for dimensional data
• Capturing, modeling, and documenting views of enterprise data at contextual, conceptual, and logical levels of abstraction using Erwin
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining data services, interfaces, and real-time data pipelines via the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies and data engineering techniques
• Partnering with platform architects to ensure implementations meet published platform principles, guidelines, and standards
• Mentoring, motivating, and supporting the team to achieve objectives and goals
• Advocating for agile practices to increase delivery throughput
• Designing and maintaining solutions consistent with published standards

What you have


To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working with partners documenting business requirements and translating those requirements into dimensional data models using Erwin
• 5+ years of experience writing complex SQL and advanced performance tuning
• 3+ years of experience designing, building, testing, and supporting near real-time data pipelines and analytical solutions using modern cloud technologies such as BigQuery, Airflow, Informatica IDMC, etc.
• 3+ years of experience working on agile teams delivering data solutions
• 1+ years of experience working with omni channel customer interaction data, translating requirements into data models, pipelines, coordinating with downstream partners and assisting them with any of their consumption requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to clearly convey complex ideas, deliver feedback, and influence teams across organizational boundaries
• Ability to define and solve complex problems with ambiguous or incomplete data in distributed systems
• Demonstrated ability to lead medium/large projects, coordinating activities of other personnel and delegating work appropriately to ensure delivery on-time, as promised
• Commitment to quality—driving high standards including writing and executing tests at all levels
• Demonstrated mindset of continuous improvement and learning

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using object-oriented languages (.Net, Java, Python) to deliver data for near real-time, streaming analytics
• Experience with data quality and data governance frameworks
• Experience writing automated unit, integration, and acceptance tests for data interfaces & data pipelines
• Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies, and identify the most appropriate use for them
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, Analytics, or related field

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
